Define "karma." It seems that a lot of Westerners (yeah, I'm a Westerner, lol) conflate karma with the idea of "justice" - an automatic, almost "supernatural" kind of justice. But justice is a purely human, and therefore relative, idea; whereas karma is an universal law. Really, it's the law of cause and effect.

It's not that if you're "good," "good" things will happen to you as a sort of cosmic reward for your goodness. But if you have a positive attitude, you get more done, you appeal more to others, and you get "returns" that are consistent with what you put out. Same if you have a "bad" attitude. There's certainly nothing supernatural about it at all.

Anyway, yeah, I believe in it...or rather I accept it as a fact of nature. (Just answer the damned question!)

Kind of.

I don't believe that there's some type of mystical force surrounding all mankind, and wreaking havoc on the lives of those whom have already wreaked havoc upon the world. However, I do feel that to some extent, the human race has established a sort of 'karma."

Naturally, the human mind seeks equality or dominance over those that have wronged you. I've noticed that when one person treats another in an ill manner, the other most usually takes it upon themselves to extend similar courtesies -- or rather, lack therefore. In many cases, when you're on bad terms with someone, you will naturally spread rumors, lies, or simply negative and unnecessary information about this "enemy" of yours.

Hence, you often aid others to acheive a negative view of this person, and they may be treated negatively by someone other than you.

Also, in terms of insults; if you insult someone, they will most likely insult you back. And once that occurs, you will in turn insult them in order to counter their insult. Furthermore they will again insult you, and so on. The cycle may never end, because the other always seeks revenge.

Don'tcha just wish life had a big "Block" button for those you simply don't want to deal with? :P

In Karma thought, undesirable karma can't be defeated by ability of doing good karmas. The account for undesirable karmas are separate. And the account of robust karmas are separate. the end results of karma can't be mitigated. It ought to be enjoyed or suffered. there's a Sanskrit Sloka: "Avasyam anubhogthavyam kritham karma subha asubham; naa bhugtham ksheeyathe karma kalpa koti sathairapi". meaning; we would desire to undergo the end results of our karmas, whether that's good or undesirable. No karma gets erased by ability of doing different deeds. sometime we would desire to constantly sense that we are no longer doing and that nature is bringing the style of situation to tension us to take a typical direction to undertake that action. there's a asserting in Mahanarayana Upanishad: "Kamokarsheet Manyurakarsheet Namo Namah". that's an problematic element, which i do no longer desire to describe right here. people who comprehend can comprehend.

Howdy Moon
I very much believe in karma. Thats the main reason that im not an ahole to random people, and being in the army, that is a hard feat to accomplish. Maybe some day when im just having a really bad day, somebody will remember when i tried to cheer them up on there bad day, and maybe i will get it back. Another major thing that it has done for me, i got dinner for free tonight. I love doner kababs :-)
you have a wonderful weekend also

Moon, Karma is nothing but the old adge "What does around comes around" and I believe it completely. I have seen folks apparently escape the results of their actions for very long times only to have it ALL dump on them at one time.

Moon,
nothing personal by any means - I'm a little pessimistic and that with over 6 or 8 Billion people on the earth statistically speaking anything is possible and anything will occur by shear acts of "numbers". Numbers of people, number of incidents, and number of ways things merely "happen".

Just but one of the 8 billion people (or so) on the earth that thinks it revolves around our "numbers".

Have a good evening!

Oh yes, very much so. I also, for lack of a better word "believe" in the three-fold rule that goes along with it. :-) Have a wonderful weekend Moon!
