I am a white woman who only dates white men. It is more of a preference than anything. But a friend of mine recently told me she thinks that is racist thinking. Do you agree?

no, you like who you like, why should you date people you arent attracted to
there are plenty of asians who only date and marry asians, plenty of mexicans who do the same, blacks, indians, etc etc
you have the freedom to choose whoever you want as a date or spouse

Probably. Have you ever found a black man or a hispanic man (or whatever you consider non-white) attractive, but you still wouldn't be willing to date them? You're basically saying, "Even if they were perfect in every way that I'd like my man to be, I wouldn't date them unless they were white." And that certainly is racist.
If you're not attracted to them (racism again because there are objective measures of attractiveness), then it's not so racist.
You can split the difference and say "I've only dated white men." Not so racist-sounding.

I believe that is more of a preference then anything else as long as you dont have a problem with talking to/being friends with people of other races. If you find your not even really fully comfortable being just friends with someone of another race then yea you may be a little racist.

No not racist at all. Its what you are attracted to. Some don't like fat, blondes, cross eyed or what ever. A White guy appeals to you more than dating outside your race. in most cases races date within your own because of tastes and other similarities

I don't think it is a racist thing. We all are attracted to different things, and can't control, for the most part, what we like and don't like. If, however, you meet a man that the only reason you won't date him is because he is of another race, then I think you may be a racist.
Beauty comes in many forms, and if we don't keep our eyes open, we may not see the beauty in front of us.

No this is not racist thinking. When your friend gets pregnant and the daddy leaves her and skips out on child support or she gets 20 STD's or gets her *** beat by her boyfriend or gets her heart broken by her cheating boyfriend, then she will know who the smart one is. As Forest Gump says,"Stupid is as stupid does..." Don't get me wrong, white guys can do this stuff ,too, but it's almost a given that it will happen with the men she will be dating. People have preferences, and some are based on physical qualities, and some are based on logical decisions.

Not at all. I only really date white men too, but I would date a mexican or spanish. I agree. Its preferance. All of the guys I have been with were white so far. No racism involved. I think they treat me the best.

its racist if you are doing it because you cant stand other races not because you are attracted to a color as part of your imaginary man.... i personally prefer spanish and asian over most... the color of their skin, it glows.... but i have to admit... an accent is so sexy... anyways... back to the issue...
preference is one thing... hating all others is another.
sounds like your friend may be uneducated but at least does not want to be racist... i think a lot of people are that way then they feel guilty in saying what attracts them... you are open and honest...just stick with the facts...you like white guys... there are enough out there to find.. go find you one and be happy :)

kind of, yes, because you are not giving everyone an equal chance. and what is the basis of your preference? why did you decide in advance of meeting everyone only to consider whites? i think if you said, so far i have only dated white men that would not be racist. because you are not rejecting an entire race out of hand in advance. ie when you don't give the races an equal opportunity i think that's a form of discrimination. it's not illegal for you to personally discriminate, but i would see it as racist a little bit.

That is a preference of choice and not being a racist. We were given a freedom of choice which we choose to exercise. Same as anything else. Being a racist is doing something against a person of another race to harm her/him.

No it's not you like what you like if your taste is specific that way.Maybe your friend thought your REASONS for only dating White guys was racist. If you don't date other races cause you think negatively of them and not just cause you don't find them attractive then it would be racist.
