I cannot find anything in the bible which states her death and ressurection or ascencion into heaven. Is the Assumption implying that Mary translated into heaven like Enoch and Elijah?

Well, according to the Catholic Encyclopedia, "The belief in the corporeal assumption of Mary is founded on the apocryphal treatise De Obitu S. Dominae, bearing the name of St. John, which belongs however to the fourth or fifth century. It is also found in the book De Transitu Virginis, falsely ascribed to St. Melito of Sardis, and in a spurious letter attributed to St. Denis the Areopagite."
In other words - it's not in the Bible - they get the idea from extra-biblical, spurious sources which they nevertheless hold to be accurate in this regard anyway.

The Assumption is hinted at in the Bible but not explicitly stated. In the Book of Revelation there is a woman giving birth to a Son. Catholics do not hold to sola scriptura. Here is some info:

From the Vatican, Italy. It's part of their non-profit belief system that it's wrong to assume that Cardinal Bernard Law and Cardinal Roger Mahoney ever covered up any child crimes in the United States but it's right to assume that Mary is God.

It is important to rememebr that the Bible did not just fall out of the sky- the books were selected to be read in Church.
While there were others that were flat out rejected there were still other books that were recomened as they proved benifical in some way.

in the bible it says that the penalty of sin is death. Elijah was sinless so he did not die; instead he was taken up into heaven by a whirlwind.

The angel Gabriel said, "Hail Mary, Full of Grace"
Grace meaning "Sanctification by God";
Sanctification meaning "Free of sin"
so "made free of sin by God".
if the punishment of sin is death, and she was sinless then she doesn't receive the punishment of death.

The concept is rooted in the Psalms:

Psa 16:7 I will bless the Lord, who hath given me understanding: moreover, my reins also have corrected me even till night.
Psa 16:8 I set the Lord always in my sight: for he is at my right hand, that I be not moved.
Psa 16:9 Therefore my heart hath been glad, and my tongue hath rejoiced: moreover, my flesh also shall rest in hope.
Psa 16:10 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; nor wilt thou give thy holy one to see corruption.
Psa 16:11 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life, thou shalt fill me with joy with thy countenance: at thy right hand are delights even to the end.

Jesus' flesh body came from Mary. Both were totally without sin. Jesus ascended to heaven with his body, by his own power. When Mary's earthly existence was at an end, the Holy Spirit dropped by to pick her up, body and soul, as well.

See Revelation 11 & 12 for the pertinent details.

The church knows this primarily through St. John, who wrote the book of Revelation, who was the last living apostle, in whose care Mary was entrusted, and who passed along much of what he knew to be true to his disciples, who preserved that knowledge in varous forms of sacred church tradition.

St. Thomas also witnessed Mary's mysteriously empty tomb, a scant three days after she was buried, finding only a huge volume of flowers where her body had formerly been.

Mary's body would also have been a much more valuable trophy for Satan than Moses' body, over which Satan contended with Michael the archangel.

Satan lost that skirmish, and if God sent an angel to keep Moses' body out of satan's grasp, it's impossible to even imagine that he would abandon the body of his own mother to the evil one.

And for Jesus to allow his mother's body to be desecrated in any way either by death, satan, or the grave, would have been unthinkable ... especially for the the one who was given all power in heaven, on earth, and under the earth ... who defeated the forces of death and hell ... and who loved his mother with an infinite love that is deeper than any mere creature can understand or appreciate.

If you were God, how long would you allow satan to have his way with your mother ... whether she was dead OR alive ... hmmn?

You cannot find in the Bible something that is not there to be found in the first place.

Thats when people worship Mary and if you have any statues of her, you can dip it into holy water or wine. Its just a way to let her know you haven't forgot her.
