being not able to talk about problems with your partner is a sign that he has problem with himself, disturbed, bad past, not happy with his life or with you ,insecurity
its not easy ,you should carry on talking with him and there is no result guaranteed here or just move on and let him sort out his problems but it would be very nice if you sit and talk

I know it is hard, but stop calling. He might find out that he needs you also, but right now he is trying to hurt you. Don't let him control how you feel. You need to get out and do something to fill your time. There is a lot to do, but you need to find out what you enjoy doing and get out there and do it. Do you know what an example you are setting for your child. You are telling your son that in order to have a good life, you have to have someone, and you don't. You need to become a full person, and then if you have someone, it will be a plus.

We all have felt that way at one time or another-look into some social activities for single parents or your favorite hobby -sorry your ex is being so rude.Best advice focus on yourself and your child.
