My girl and I are taking a trip to NYC on 12/20/07-12/23/07, I was hoping to catch one of the central park horse carriage rides. Are they good and how much would I have to pay? Also do I need to call and like reserve a carriage or would I be able to get one.

The cabs cost about $30 for the first 20 minutes (don't forget to tip the driver). They line up outside the Plaza Hotel on 59th Street; you can always get a cab near Tavern on the Green in Central Park. Reservations aren't necessary.

I went to New York last summer and I went on the horse carriage ride. I can't remember exactly how much it cost but I'm pretty sure it was $20+?

You get nice views and you pass by a bunch of things, like the Plaza and the carousel. You don't need to call and reserve a carriage. You can just go there and tell a person with a horse that you would like to go on a carriage ride. The lady I got told us a little bit of history along the way too.

Have fun!

I was in New York in July and I wish I had done that we walked round abit of it and missed most of the interesting bits like the fountain from the start of friends sitcom. There were loads of carriages so I doubt you would need to reserve one I can't see many people using them in the winter. I think they are approx $40 but that's to take you round the whole park and I expect you will get free commentary.
