i was visiting friends in rochester and when i was on I-90 i got pulled over for doing 80 in a 65. i work construction and i was talking to my foreman and he said that if its your first offense in new york then you can be exempt from the points and fine if i fill out the right form and send it in. can anyone give me a link for the form?

Most states are bonded, so you will very likely get points from it. The only program I know of to avoid points is taking a class (usually called STOP or something like that) but usually it has to be in the county from which you received the citation. Call the county attorney's office in that county and ask about your options. You could always fight it, but I can tell you from personal experience that I have never had a citation overturned in court... Good luck.

Unless NY has an agreement with Vermont, you won't get points on your license. You need to pay the fine, though.

And, your insurance company might find out about it too. Many states report convictions to the insurance companies.

I work out of town for construction myself and you will still need to pay the fine, but you should not get any points on your license. But if you fail to pay the fine, they will take your license.
