I have been through bouts of depression and find that exercise really helps a lot. Go out walking, running, join a gym, or buy a punching bag. Studies have proven that physical activity helps relieve stress and lessen the effects of depression. Also, take a good look at what your eating habits are. Try to stay away from excessive sugar intake, MSG, and other junk foods. These things really helped me. Lots of people can say "try to think positive thoughts", but when you're depressed that's much easier said than done, and it's not your fault. Also, some places have free counseling services. Not saying that you're crazy or anything, but sometimes it helps to vent to someone who's totally uninvolved in what your circumstances are and can help give a fresh outlook. Hope this helps!

When I start to feel that way, I stop and think about all the things I have to be thankful for. A year from now, you'll have forgotten about having to wait another week. Like they say, don't stress the small stuff. . . Good luck, and hang in there.

depression is horrible, and im sorry you are going through it. for myself, i got a really great psychologist adn tried tons of different meds before finding effexor, which works great for me. keep trying, youll find one thatll work with your body chemistry and mind, since they all dont work for everyone. meds can take a while to work for some people, so as for now, when im depressed i like to lie down or maybe take a nap until its bearable to get up again. thinking positively is called cognitive therapy and is very very hard to do, so dont stress about that, depression makes your thoughts negative, its hard to control. i also liek to watch a funny tv show on dvd, liek that 70s show or friends. do something to take your mind of of it, while also relaxing. just take it easy, soemtimes theres nothing yo can do but let it pass... good luck!

Just relax and enjoy planning your new life with your partner....you are lucky! just think about all the people in the world worse off than yourself this Christmas with nothing or no one to look forward to. Now do you feel better?...it always pays to put things in perspective .
Merry Christmas!

go for a walk. smell the air. touch the water. look at the trees. you are alive. get moving (physical movement) outside in nature. that's where you will find perspective. give thanks for the food you have to eat.

maybe it's for a reason. Concentrate on all the things that are good in your life right now.
