That is not limited to males. Some females will do anything to be at the centre of attention at parties too.

They want to be noticed. They may not know how to interact or say hello so they play the goofy card. The next time so see that person at a party, do them the favor of saying hi to them first, you know break the ice, I think they may act differently then

Funny. I'm a guy and never pursued attention at parties.
I suppose there's a natural desire to find a mate, and males of different species have very similar ways of doing that. Birds flaunt their colorful plumage, etc.

They probably want to show how popular they are. How cul they are. How hot they look and try to get some girls then dump us and date some other chick. They want to date other girls and dump them for other girls over and over again. I had a friend how made out with one of my friends 6 times and broke up with her. Then that same month he made out with 4 girls and broke up with them in 1 month too. He is a year younger then me but still cute.
