My 7 year old yorkie has internal bleeding. She had very thick, dark bloody diarehha. She did not suffer any injuries. The vet thinks it is either from parasites, or something she ate. She has gotten into the garbage numerous times, and has 2 times in the past 3 days, but we don't know what she ate exactly. She may have eaten something that had bleach sprayed on it, but we don't think so. She DID eat a lot of boneless chicken though, and maybe some aluminum foil, we're not sure. The vet knows all of this, and says we have to wait and see. The vet has her on an IV (for dehydration) and is sending her blood to the lab. Can the vet do anything to stop the bleeding? My dog seems fine. She is barking and running around.

I have a 5 year old Chihuahua that starting having bloody stools. I took her to the vet and he checked for blood and it was neg but he stated that he's not suppose to eat human food, at least not too much of it and I had fed her quite a bit of boneless chicken. So, stick with the vet, search the Internet and ask questions, questions. I pray everything comes out OK. stick with the vet. There's nothing he can do to stop the bleeding except surgery and that should be the last resort. Sometimes, dogs are like children, they can be sick, but they still are playing, Good luck.

Listen to your vet and keep the dog away from the garbage, she could have gotten ahold of glass also, which is cause internal bleeding, and cut her insides up......even if she is barking and running around listen to your vet.....

You will have to trust your Vet. If he thinks it serious he will take action. Did he do an x=ray? to see if there was a foreign body?? Dog can eat the strangest things.

Lock up the garbage with a lid that has a buzzer on it and scare her off. Her life may depend on it and your budget to.

There is always surgery to determine exactly where the blood is coming from.

The vet IS doing something! Why are you rambling to unqualified strangers who have never even seen your dog, let alone examined her?
