And you could see the ship sinking from your own ship- and even though it was sinking REALLY slowly, would you want to warn that person of the oncoming water? Or would you sit back and just watch them sink?
To those who believe, Jesus calls us to share His gospel of salvation with all- Mark 1:17
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
What is His gospel of salvation?
God says: Ezekiel 18:4
For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son—both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God made a way for us, through Jesus Christ, so we could be set free from sin and hell- given eternal life in Him. This is a free gift from God, it cannot be earned ( Ephesians 2:8) Someday we will all stand before the Lord- Are you ready for that? His grace is so good! Salvation is now!

Jesus says:
John 5:24
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

You are so COOL...I have been warning people about what their future holds with or without Christ for years and the anointing of Christ is the only way of breaking willing people free from the power of deception the Devil has on them. Those who are unwilling to be set free will not share nor have any place in the coming kingdom of Jesus Christ the Messiah..Just think those who come to Christ will be given Crowns and rewards that will never corrupt or fade away, He gifts are eternal and they last forever and it breaks the heart of Jesus, knowing that He was tortured and innocently killed, so that the world could be set free from Satan, sin, sickness, poverty and physical and spiritual death..It is free for the asking to anyone who will call on HIS NAME will be saved. You are so cool!

Thats exactly how I feel as an Atheist.
The results of faith based belief is clear throughout history, violence and argument, family discord and broken friendships always result from faith based belief.
We now have scientific process to follow, in order to learn about our past and possibly our future.
I see religious people drowning in doctrine that causes them to hurt one another and believe that God needs to exist for purpose in life. They belief that the future is just going to get worse and that mankind deserves destruction at the hands of God.
Its harmful, and we have a duty to help them out of the sinking ship.

Maritime law, the oldest and most intact legal code in the world, requires that you be of whatever assistance possible without endangering your own vessel at the earliest possible time in the event that another vessel with persons on board is in danger, even if they don't yet know it.

I would do what I could to help them. I suppose that if I were a devout believer, I'd just expect god to reach his hand down and save them, so I'd keep watching as they sank, hoping to see the hand of god.

I agree, to a point.
But many do not see their ship as sinking, they see our ship as the one sinking, and they are all to aware of the errors and deceits that those who pretend to pilot our ship have perpetrated in His name.
In short, they don't respect us because too many of us are willfully blind to their point of view. We cannot convince them of our way through stubborness, but we might make some headway with respect.

I guess I'd just watch them sink and expect God to save them.

That's precisely the same analogous reason why I want to save you from the delusion which imprisons you. Your ship is sinking big time and I've tried calling out to you, throwing you a life jacket, things like that, but it seems as though you prefer your sinking ship.
The thing is, what I'm offering you is freedom and knowledge backed up by solid, tangible evidence. What you're offering me is fear and ignorance backed up by a moldy old book of nonsense stories.

what a clever disguise for your evangelism.
but i'm sure that someone will report your question as not really a question.
you probably wont convert anyone on here, why not try doing this in person with someone you know.
