Your own criminal history through NCIC can be obtained from your states Department of Public Safety.

You can NOT get somebody elses! You may be able to PAY for someone elses but not get it without proper identification!

Criminal histories are closely "guarded" for the protection of the individuals privacy!

If someone came to my department and asked for their own criminal history...I am prohibited by law from giving them ANY information which must come from the state or federal level!

There are "fly by night" pay for services that offer SOME information based upon arrest records but these are not true criminal histories IF they even come back to the true person requested.

You can look up anyone's arrest record in the State of Florida thru the DOC or by county. DOC holds felony, county holds felony and misdemeanor. It's free, it's public record and it is not a closely guarded secret. It's not like your driver's record or your credit report. Google the sheriff's office site for your county and it should have an area to look up arrest records by name, birth date, etc. You are not actually doing a "background check" so don't Google that, you have to pay for those. The county records should show all arrests, time served and all sentences.

It depends on what type of information that you want. You can use online search engines i.e. Cyber-Dective, or if you know if enough information on the person, you could go to the county in which they live in, or have lived in and reseach it your self. All criminal records, execpt those of juvenile, and those involing minors are availible for the public to view.
