Dog tags just went up in cost here. I was curious what you all pay for them for your dog.
We live in one county and I work in another. One charges three dollars for a tag the other varies, but it goes up to 100 after new years for an unaltered dog.

You can get a kennel license tag for over three dogs. I think the 100dollar is a 3yr unaltered dog tag. They haven't told us for sure, but code enforcement was talking about the increase.

My town charges $6 per tag. Ours are due every July, so I'm not sure if we will have an increase, but last July it was $6.

ADD:
Holy Toledo! As of now, we don't have different prices for altered or unaltered. But then, I live in the middle of nowhere.

In Franklin County Virginia it cost $4 for altered and $10 for unaltered.
The kennel licese for 20 dogs is $15 and for 50 it's $25
However with kennel tags there are certain rules ou must follow like the dog is not to be allowed loose. a personal dog we have no leash laws so the dogs roam at large quite a bit.

Just a little note::
mine are hose dogs and on a chain to go out usually not more than a half hour at a time. and Yes I do walk them often as well but it's not easy with all the dogs who run at large.

The county in PA that I live is charges $6 per year or they also have a lifetime tag that is $29. If the tag gets lost or you have a change of address it costs $1 to replace.

In western NY, tags in my town are $6 for an altered dog, $12 for an unaltered one. As far as I know they're not raising the price soon either.

Ask him if there was once anything he desired that he didn't get and go from there. If he received everything he desired go to a kind of tee shirt places that irons on and get him band or football related brand stuff. Unless he's religious or into the army i do not think dog tags often is the thing to get him. However it is as much as u. Guys can normally use clothes... Hope this helps

Are you referring to the registration tag from the city? The cost to register your dog in Mecklenberg County in NC is $10 per year. Wow $100 seems really steep, there's an excuse to neuter.

Around me, it is $3 for altered dog, $5 for unaltered.

$100 is crazy! I guess they want to make it smarter for irresponsible owners to pay to alter their dog rather than keep it intact and pay that heavy dog tag fee.

But it really screws responsible owners who choose to keep dogs intact, or those that want to breed responsibly.

Wow that seems pretty steep!

I live in IL and our dog tags cost $15 each.

That price they are charging you, no one is going to want to get them, and I think you all should complain! That is ridiculous!
