The official one is always the way to go, if you can afford it. A bad HDMI Cable ruined my experience of "living" for a long time 'til I got a good one.

Any HDMI cable would suffice. The only real difference in HDMI cables is the construction. Although there were other revisions most recently made to the HDMI cable. You're more than likely to come across the newer versions. With that said, I wouldn't necessarily go out and buy a $5 HDMI cable, because chances are it's probably not constructed all that well. But a decent priced cable from a reliable company would be a good investment. Monster Cable is amongst the most expensive brands and their cables wont necessarily give you better picture or sound (in real world results) but the quality of the cable is excellent and most high end brands offer a lifetime warranty on their products.

HDMI cables are digital. And there's little to no difference between the quality of the video you will get amoung the different cables out there. I usually get mine from monoprice.com. A 3 foot cable from there is only about 6 bucks. Chain stores used to always sell HDMI cables for 60+ bucks until the word got out about HDMI and how a cheap one works as good as an expensive one. So now the stores usually have a 20 dollar one just to try to compete. So get the cheapest one the store has or go with a Monoprice one. Ive got 3 HDMI cables from monoprice for me and friends and they all worked fine.

All HDMI are the same just get the cheapest. I got one on eBay $8 delivered, works great on my PS3. Keep in mind your HDTV needs to have and HDMI input, if not you can use component (red, green, blue) or composite (yellow) and the red and white audio cables. HDMI does it all you don't need separate audio cables.

it doesn't matter for short distances. Buy the cheapest one you can find. Mines cost 5.99--You definitely can't beat that.
