I was told a few years ago that they could waive my history and get me in once off probation. I called today, the guy was a jerk and said I couldn't join and no way around it. (NAVY) But it was the Navy and Marines who said I could a while back.

Here's my charges:
Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, Theft by Taking, DUI, Obstruction of an Officer and Destruction of Governement Property.

All were charged as Misdemeanors. That was back between 1997 and 2001. I was told in 2004 that I was good to go if I wanted to join. But now...I can't?!?! What's up with that??

Any help to get past this would be great. Seems like they would look at my particular situation, the years gone by, the fact that I'm a responsible, full-time employed, mother, and college student with a 3.74 GPA and not the kid I used to be (rough times back then - parents divorced)

Best chance is Army. they are the most willing to grant waivers. Marines, Navy and AF are not going to want to do the legwork required to get that many waivers.

Also: you mention being a parent..if you are a single parent you are DISQUALIFIED period. no single parents may enlist Active Duty . Only some Guard or Reserves.
