Some jackass is gonna be here in a few minutes telling you that it's cruel and that your dog will be healthier if you don't. Don't listen to them.

The only reason I can think of is if you have a high quality dog you paid an arm & leg & nut to get. You would want to show & work towards a championship on him.
Other than that there isn't any good reasons not to get him neutered.
I have all my pets neutered/spayed at 4 months.
Do it.

The only reason you should not neuter is if you are going to be doing some responsible breeding twice a year other wise your DOg will live a much happier and healthier life if you get him neutered, us men have a tendency to carry our fears over into our dogs but it is much different in this case a dogs instinct is to mate twice a year when you take this a way from him bad things can happen not to mention the calming of territory

RE:
Is there any reason why I should NOT neuter my dog?
I know there are benifits of neutering dogs, I am just wondering if there any disadvantage of neutering them other than breeding.

The risk of surgery is very minimal, but still a risk.
There are also some other issues that some studies have pointed out, but it's not really substantiated and most vets do not support those views.
The reality is that if your dog isn't a show dog, then getting him fixed is the best thing to do. It will prevent "oops" breedings, prevent numerous cancers, and will make his behavior more tolerable.
And I also want to mention that a good breeder would have written it into your purchase contract that the dog be fixed, unless going to a showing or competing home. If you already have the dog and this wasn't in your contract, please be sure to find a better breeder next time you buy a dog. Backyard Breeders and puppy mills are responsible for millions of dogs killed in shelters. Please don't support this kind of breeder again.

Since you say neutering I'm guessing you're talking about a male dog.
There are some articles that have pointed out growth problems for early neuters and increased cancer risks, but I always have female dogs and have to admit that I have not studied the articles in in detail.
It's not common to spay and neuter where I come from, so I've dealt with mostly intact dogs. However, from my experience with neutered dogs, I've seen the following disadvantages:
- Altered fur-structure.
- Many neutered dogs tend to get picked on by intact dogs. (This is probably more of a problem for the neutered dogs here with the high percentage of intact dogs).
- If you have a fear-aggressive dog, the neutering could make it worse.
As you know, there are also many advantages of neutering, so I guess it all comes down to what is right for you and your dog.

There really aren't any big reasons not to neuter your dog. Depending on the size and breed of your dog, sometimes it makes a difference when you neuter them. Big dogs mature slower and their grow pallet closes slower.
Of course there are people on all sides of the issue. I definitely recommend neutering unless he is a show dog and you are showing him.

No, there really are no negative side affects to neutering, unless of course you want to breed. If all you want is a good family pet, then neutering is most reccomendable, becuase of all the positives that neutering brings with it.
Good luck!

Breeding is the only reason, a longer life span, less chance of testicular cancer.
My step mother never neutered her Dalmation, however, when he was nine he started to develop tumors on his body, the vet said they could remove them but unless the dog got neutered he would always keep having them. So they neutered him and they stopped.
also, it might cut out the wanderlust unneutered males have.

They might be less active and get fat easier though it can depend on the breed. An aggresive dog i wouldnt even reconsider not neutering though. And i think that neutered dogs have less chance to getting this one health problem, the name has slipped my mind though at the moment.
