Please DO NOT DRINK! there are more side affects than we know of. My mom has been a substance and alcohol abuse counselor for 15 years. She was also on drugs at one time, I'm glad to hear that you are trying to get yourself together. I wish you all the best!

there's a HUGE possibility that it could. Methadone is dangerous enough by itself, let alone mixing it with anything. Like you said, methadone causes your respitory system to slpw down, and so does alcohol. You may go to sleep, and not wake back up. be careful

It very well could. Both the alcohol and the methadone, causes your breathing to slow down, when used together, its much worse. They work together and multiply their effects. It can slow (while you're sleeping) to the point of being deadly.

So sorry you are on methadone. I heard its one of the worst things to try to stop taking. Maybe one beer might be ok but doctors and pharmacists will say NO

my dad was on methadone for years. it turned him into a zombie. he never drank with it though, he did however mix a whole bunch of other pills with them too. needless to say that is not smart either

Because Methadone and alcohol are both depressants...taken together they cause what's referred to as
"potentiation" or "synergism."
It's no longer about "adding" but "multiplying" the effects of the depressant actions which can essentially cause death.
I refer to the mixture as a "moltov cocktail" or "russian roulette."
You make the final decision but be careful!

They are both depressants and could depress your body too much, I would highly recommend you not drink any beer. Very unhealthy right now.

I would not recommend it, but if you insist then ask a pharmacist or your doctor. They could give you better information.
