I currently miss all of the things everyone in the states take for granted! Simple things like going into a decent bathroom (they smell like hell here), normal showers (we NEVER have warm water), sleeping in the quiet of my own home (we live in an open barracks or in tents and someone is always making noise when your trying to get a few hours of sleep before your next mission).

Ironically, freedom. I missed being able to hang out with friends on off time or go to the movie theaters. I missed being able to just get away for a weekend or go for a drive at night to clear my mind. I missed being able to bar-b-q without your steak getting sand blasted, lol. But most of all I missed my wife and daughter.

A&W Rootbeer. When I was overseas we had every kind of pop except any form of Root Beer. We complained to AAFES and the week I rotated out they finally got some in... Bastards.

What I wouldn't give for a Texas Roadhouse steak right now!! That, and my own bed and pillow, and to be able to drop a duece on my own toilet with some freakin Charmin!!!

When i was in Iraq i missed Lotaburger. They make the best burgers in New Mexico that and a nice bed.

My comfortable bed at home, the front right fender of an M60 tank is not all that comfortable.

Things being open late at night. Convenience stores.
