if your destination is the same...why can't there be multiple ways to go? I don't get why you argue....

How do you get to heaven?

How do you get to cedar point?
(depending on where you start from, there are a number of different ways to get there, by boat, by helicopter, by plane, by car, by bicycle, walking, not to mention infinite paths that you could take to reach the same destination)

personally i don't buy any of it, but i wonder if you all have the same destination, who cares what path you take to get there?

That's why you should convert to my belief of Frisbeetarianism. When you die, your soul goes up to the roof and gets stuck.

for sure a faith will become mythology after it dies out. the form faith takes is truly based on the form of society. E.g. the extra centralised the political equipment is, the extra based and centralised faith can tend to be. Pre christian faith which has develop into extra often than not mythology now, has been rooted out over a era of roughly two hundred years by the RCC. They first grabbed the potential and then started taking posession of the temples and their wealth. the approach became finalised while in many bishopries interior the 6th and seventh century heathens have been given the alternative: get baptised or we confiscate each little thing you have interior the call of god and our very own handbag. The jewel of the crown got here while the pope provided himself to the king of the Franks with some fake documents so referred to as written by Constantine the great and Saint Peter himself wherein the pope became given finished Italy and western europe. on condition that he became a modest individual (popes are continually modest while they attempt to get some thing) he took purely a huge area of Italy. From then on human beings had to have faith what their lords believed. of direction christianism, islam and hinduism are no longer eternal. they are going to get replaced by ideals that extra wholesome extra effective with society. possible say we already see numerous components of latest faith, on a similar time as on the comparable time components of the old religions have become mythology already. New components: celebrities, the will for costly products promising status, the two tier society (wealthy and unfavourable) for which faith will locate a justification. old components: X-mas, processions, many rituals.

This is interesting and I believe it is a reward system. Carrot & Stick

I would also like to put in at this time I am also a Theist that does not believe in any afterlife for anyone, many people stated in my ealier questions today that theistic beliefs only come from fear of death and people thinking that they can live on past that. Not all theistic beliefs contain the heaven/hell system.

Having to stay in the same place for eternity would get boring, no matter what.
I like the idea of reincarnation based on the karma you develop in this life affecting what you get in your next There's some motivation that's dependent on personal responsibility, unlike those who can blame/give credit to God and/or Satan.

There are two destinations. The only way to reach either one is by a physical death. What you believe say and do, determines which destination you will arrive at.

"Why do most religions have "heaven" in their beliefs? "

LOL... It's because "Heaven" is the most ideal retail product ever sold. It costs nothing on the wholesale market, it costs nothing to store or move about or package and it has an unlimited shelf life.... The only requirement for making a killer profit by selling it is finding enough people who are dumb enough to become repeat buyers.

Its an incentive to conform to a religion that would champion foregoing the things that may lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification.

Sort of a justification after death thing.

23 down to Ohio and across to Sundusky

(The question was how do I get to Cedar point, right?)

While the goal of all religion is to reach heaven, if you are driving in the wrong direction, it is kind of hard to get there. (We just crossed the Mackinaw Bridge, are we at Cedar Point yet?)

Saying what you just said takes God out of the equation. Now you have gods. Different religions believe in a different God. However, I believe that most of them have some big things in common for a reason. Because that is the truth however, there is only one way to salvation.
Your saying of there are different ways to get to the top of a mountain is a prime example of corrupt sinful human thinking. You have to understand that because we are all born in sin that we all can not understand Gods wisdom and that we make up and believe worldly wisdom. Only those who believe in Jesus Chris the Son of God are given the Holy Spirit to be revealed the secret things of God. Even then there is much that they will never know. The bible says God is mysterious, no one knows His ways. nuff said.

It's the carrot on the stick.

Even if you don't like the rules, who would give up a chance to survive death and experience bliss?

It gives people something to work toward. Heaven is the carrot, religion (no matter which) is the stick. It's all about control of the masses.
