correct me if im wrong here, please but dont give me a page long answer.
are religious people supposed to be accepting of others beliefs and forgiving and blah blah blah? but yet when ever there is a religous movie, no one cares, another movie. then some movie comes out with witches, magic, anti-god, no god, and all of the sudden some religous groups go nuts and want to boycott, and so on and so forth. (not all, some) so tell me, whats up with that?

Most religions have no problems making fun of other people and their beliefs. However, as soon as someone who opposes their beliefs or makes a movie that they don't agree with, they go off the deep end about it. It's very hypocrital but you will never get them to see that.

Yes, there is a lot of hypocrisy in religion.
When Salman Rushdie wrote the Satanic Verses, we lauded him for standing up for his freedom of expression against religious fanatics. Yet when a movie like the golden compass comes out, all of a sudden freedom of speech is wrong.
It's no use trying to make sense out of it. People are retards.

i work at a movie theatre... and yes you're right. many uber-religious people have protested in front of our building for many movies including all of the Harry Potters, The Da Vinci Code, and now...The Golden Compass. It's getting ridiculous.
On the other hand, many Christians are kind and realize that these are just movies, or are open-minded and strong enough in their faith to go see the movies just because they're curious.
But, I wish many people weren't so judgmental and quick to decide things without seeing them themeselves. I know my boyfriends mother won't let her 16 year old daughter see The Golden Compass...because it's "killing god"
That's outrageous.

I do not read in the Bible where believers are supposed to be accepting of non-believers. What I do read is that we should love people. We should love enough to share what we believe, the truth. As far as the movies, I seem to remember quite a bit of uproar surrounding the Mel Gibson "Passion..." movie.

They follow something born of fear. Fear is all they know and those movies are freaking them out. It scares them to think that millions of people will go see a movie that is against God. Or that they will actually believe in what they saw or begin to consider other things besides God.

Simple. Religion likes what goes with them, and cannot understand, tolerate or let stand what goes without or against them.
