Because science is willing to admit it's wrong and improves itself.

Faith as a way of understanding reality can be shown to be a problematic form of belief.

Take religion - 2,000+ different belief systems, and no empirical evidence for any of them. Is there any better demonstration of the problems of "faith," which are in essence an intellectual cop-out?

By the way, it's not science that is proved wrong; it is a way of understanding reality. It tosses wrong assumptions by following the scientific method. The fact that you're even typing information and sending over a fiber optic cable at the speed of light kind of, em, shows me that you're ignorant of science and its proven benefits. There is nothing wrong in learning about the universe without jumping to faith.

Scientific ideas can be either reinforced or denied because they can be tested. Faith or faith based ideas cannot be "proven" true or false, that's the point of faith. To me, there is little significance to this statement.

Science depend on the availability of tools and past experience(s) , examination(s), also depend on the ability and capacity of the reaseacher.

Faith CAN be proven wrong, BUT only if the person with that faith is willing to admit that her/his stack of beliefs that make her/him belief was wrong.

Your statement is incorrect. Science can't be proven wrong; conclusions drawn from the scientific principle can be shown to be incorrect. Science is a framework for answering questions about nature -- how would you propose to prove that a framework is "wrong"?

That said, it is absolutely essential that any scientific idea could at least theoretically be proven false. If it weren't possible to falsify an idea, the idea would have no value. Note that this doesn't mean that we have to have a technological means of falsifying a scientific idea to make it valid; this only means that a means of falsification could come into existence at some point.

Faith-based ideas are inherently valueless because they are unfalsifiable. Many religious people claim that no evidence for or against god's existence can ever exist. In response to claims of god's existence, I claim that pink unicorn's exist in a dimension inherently inaccessible from ours. Both claims are equally true because both are equally unfalsifiable.

Faith is a feeling more than anything else. Feelings can't be "proven" or "disproved". Whereas science is about real tangible things and it's purpose is to discover and understand. So, proof is needed to support or deny those discoveries so that we know more about our world and beyond. Feelings only tell us about our reaction to things, science tells us why we have those reactions!

Faith can easily be proven wrong....

Example...

I have faith that I'll live to see tomorrow. My evidence to support this faith...I've lived long enough to see 35 years worth of tomorrow, so my chances are pretty good. Now, if I'm killed in a car wreck today (which could possibly happen)...and don't live to see tomorrow...I guess my faith was wrong....wasn't it?

Your question is moot.....

I don't think they are really related. Science is a systematic exploration of the laws governing the physical universe. Faith is a belief system that relies on nothing for proof, so disproof is not necessary.

Because conversely, science can be proven RIGHT, while faith cannot.

Comparing faith to science is tantamount to comparing a brick to an F-35

I'm not certain that it is significant( to whom). But of course faith can't be proved wrong "Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Heb. 11:1).
Impossible to disprove .
