I asked a lady out, she dresses very conservative, never talks about guys and when I sent her some flowers she seemed happy but nervous.

She declined my invite for a date and so I told her I accepted and respected her decision. A few weeks later she told me to forget the whole thing so I thought everything was cool.

A few weeks later (3 months after I asked) she blew up at me for no reason and now seems to ignore me. I've been told that she is gay and I know she has several gay friends. I didnt know this when I asked.

Why couldnt she just move on when I told her I was cool? Particularly as she said to forget it?

She might have assumed you knew she was gay and just trying to pull her out of the closet. Or someone may have told her that. Either way she probably thinks you were trying to make her look like a fool. Now she's had time to think about it. You know how some people are the longer they think about something the madder they get.

she is obviously having problems trying to figure out her true sexuality. she may still be confused as to whether she is gay or not and probably because you are a guy and she doesnt know whether she is gay or not you asking her out would of brought the whole situation up again and would of made her begin to worry about it again. She is obviously at the moment trying to figure out who she is dont worry its not you its probably just her mind on over time

These don't really seem terribly related ...
I love it when guys ask me out - (cruel, I know)
it's a buzz being fancied - and the expression when I tell them why not (ooh, I'd love to - if only I were straight - but I'm lesbian darling!!) is usually priceless!!

I can't think (from what you've told us) WHY she would blow up at you...
I should just forget it if I were you.
Hope this helps!

Sounds like she is gay and unhappy. Maybe just a drama queen and she is lashing out for other reason you have no clue about. SORRY But women can be crazy /no all but alot.

Perhaps she's confused about her sexuality, convinced herself she was a lesbian, then you came along and confused her again because perhaps she actually wanted you and didn't want to give into temptation, then you gave up quite easily and she didn't like that either, remember this is only a theory mind.

Don't listen to gossip. You need to go up to her and ask her why she is acting this way and if you offended her in some way. If she is gay then you could still be friends with her.

She may never have been out with another woman, so she maybe feeling confused, as she may like you, but is fighting it as she thinks she is gay

Maybe she had a fight with her girlfriend and needed to take it out on someone. I wouldn't let it eat at you too much. No big deal, it is her loss.

I don't know, but you should move on. She may be mad about something else. Just try to forget her.
