You need to see a dermatologist to get a personal recommendation, as there are many types of acne and they respond differently to treatment. My derm recommends benzoyl peroxide wash like Proactiv or cheaper versions of this for typical whiteheads and blackheads. Diet also has a lot to do with skin as well as hormones. See a derm before you start wasting money on products.

There's a new one out that you can order online that I'm having success with for the first time in many years. It's from a company called Skintactix and you can only order it online. But so far it's done wonders for my skin. I had tried both Murad and ProActive and had no luck. I didn't like the benzoyl peroxide in ProActive either though. This stuff from Skintactix is nice. It contains salicylic acid as well as tons of natural products like green tea.

Also, start drinking a lot more water and try cutting down on soda and milk products. Increase the veggies and fruits in your diet and cut out some of the fatty things. Try taking a good multi-vitamin from a healthfood store. These things will help the process along.
