With parental consent, you can join the Army Delayed Enlistment Program right now and delay entering active duty until you graduate high school. Just talk to a recruiter.
If you're close to 18, you can ask the recruiter about starting the paperwork now. On your 18th birthday, you can enlist without parental permission.

ok first, for the most part some of these answers are right, but heres the deal. if you are 17 yrs old and a jr in high school the ONLY thing you qualify for is ARMY RESERVES. now come may time frame you will be qualified for both REGULAR ARMY (full time) or ARMY RESERVES (part time). if you are still 17 you will need your parent(s) to consent (written).
the only other qualifing items are any legal issues regardless of dispostion and medical.
after that you need to take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Apptitude Battery) do you best on this.
any other questions email me

Your parents can sign if you don't wait until you are 18. I knew a guy that joined the guard when he was 17, went to basic the summer between his junior and senior year, then went active after he graduated. He just had to do the weekend thing his senior year.

Before you can join the US Army at age 17, you will need your parents consent and signature, plus
a High School Diploma or GED!

Both of your biological parents will need to sign consent for you to enlist prior to turning 18. Other than that everything is the same. Look up the Army recruiting office in the blue pages of the white pages of your telephone book and go talk to them. They are not bad people and will be able to answer any questions you have and help you accomplish what you want to do. Good Luck.

Go talk to a recruiter, take the tests and see what jobs you are able to do. Talk with your parents, have parent sign waiver.
I joined at 17. My mother signed the waiver for me and knew that this is what I wanted to do.

Talk to a high school counselor and the Army recruiter.
The counselor may alert you to options and get you prepared for a college that has an ROTC program or a service academy such as USMA, but if you want to enlist, you can also do so and let your high school counselor know.
