I live in a small apartment and the dining area is virtually part of the living room. I have a small rectangular wooden table (antique) that isn't especially attractive. How can I make this look more attractive? The dining chairs are small and very pretty Victorian. My furnishing style is a blend of modern (mostly leather) with antique.

you can always get a really nice table mat to dress up your table and as for the chairs you can dress them up with those chair covers. if you have a sowing machine you can make them yourself. my unt did that for her house and she has the same thing you have going on and her house looks gorgeous. another thing too is adding small details that incorporate both the antique theme and the modern theme. you know just micing the two up with frames pillows, maybe a ceiling light that would look gorgeous. you know those plant holders that you screw in to the ceiling you can put one of those up and since you have an antique theme maybe get an inexpensive chandelier from ikea that can mix up your style. you dont have to have a lot to make things work. Also i love the 99 cent store i know it sound cheese but ive gotten some pretty nice stuff there and sooo cheap. they have some cute frames candles and i swear if you just put your imagination to work you can elaborate and put stuff together and it looks great. just stay away from the cheese stuff get the "nicer" that no one will be able to notice was bought a 99 cent store. good luck :)
