Because Mexico is controlled by a small group of very rich families, and they like Mexico the way it is, as long as they can come and go to the U.S. as much as they like. Mexicans like to blame whites for their failures, rather than admit the truth. The middle class is very small in Mexico, and the rich rule the country ruthlessly.
Mexican immigration is a passive aggressive attempt to take over the U.S. by out breeding us.
This is the reason why whites can not buy land in Mexico. If whites were allowed to start migrating to Mexico and Latin America, they would change the culture and start demanding rights, and the rich people in the U.S. and the rich people in Latin America do not want this to happen.
God forbid the average person in Mexico should be able to earn a decent living in Mexico.

Uh, Fields...
Do some geography, would you?
Mexicans ARE Americans.
They just don't like to be called Americans, because they don't like to be insulted by being confused with being from the US of A.
The reason that things are not done as you suggest is that the only Mexicans trying to immigrate illegally into the US are the ones who are less-favored by the current Mexican system.
Those who profit by keeping things as they are in Mexico have absolutely no reason to want to be any more associated with the US of A than does Canada.
I can't say I blame them.
Look what happened to the Mexicans when the US took over the northern parts of Mexico which we now call California, Nevada, Airizona, New Mexico, and Utah. Many mexicans wound up being squeezed out of their homes in spite of being of a favorable disposition to their Yankee neighbors.
Do you really think any current Mexicans wish to even take a risk of losing their all by being annexed into the same US of A that did that to their northern historical neighbors?
I sure wouldn't.

They already pondered that in the Mexican/American war, but decided that they did not want all them Mexicans being part of the United States. Therefore they only took half.
Most of the jobs went to India and China. Some went south but not as much as the first two

The U.S. would get more oil out of the deal, but the welfare roles would quadruple. And do you really think the Mexican military is equal to the U.S. military such that by bringing it in it would double the strength of the U.S. military?
