Get your own and if he turns up make him wait until you have finished or tell him his is in the oven, fridge or dog.
It's not fair that he should do this at any time. If he had any consideration he should have told you to get your own and he would sort himself out when he got in. My daughters ex did this on a regular basis every night and in the end she just gave up trying to cook for him.

This is going to sound strange...but when he is at the pub...start thinking nice things about him. Tell him...he can't hear you but his spirit can...that it is ok to come home and you won't be mad..and you have set aside a nice dinner...in the oven to keep it warm. Say this outloud. Then think happy thoughts about him..and when he comes home...smile sweetly and don't mention it. Don't make an issue out of it..and it won't be an issue in the future...it will be soon forgotten.
Whenever I do this...my hubby comes home soon.

I love you UK girls. The guys a dip - on a Friday I'd hurry home to my g/f and take her out somewhere. Once the drinking starts though people lose track of time and don't want to leave cause they're all comfy. I'd say he's having his fun, you go have yours w/o him. I wouldn't wait - the more you wait the more he'll do it.

Phone your best friend, get her round, order a take away, get a bottle of wine, put on a girlie film and when he gets back keep telling him to be quiet cause your enjoying the film. Make sure the wine is empty and the take away is eaten, don't want him helping himself.

Cook your own dinner and don't do anything for him as he's left you waiting and then hopefully he will arrive just as you are finishing

Actually, problem is he has NOT passed the pub.
Cook your own dinner, don't wait for anyone not willing to marry you.

Go on and have your dinner, or even better go out to a restaurant and have someone cook for you. I'll meet you there!

Cook your own dinner, let him sort his own food out as he couldn't be bothered to come home for dinner.
Glad you enjoyed your dinner.
