Yes, I agree with majority of world that we need to increase efforts to increase climate change. Though climate change is not only because of human impacts but also natural cycles. Human impacts on climate is worsening day by day mainly the emission from industry and burning fossil fuels. We have to address this emission either by lowering limits or by introducing environmentally friendly technologies.
I read above, somebody said that the questioner spent energy on computer, scientists supports to emit CO2 while flying to Bali blah bla.... these are stupid arguments. To find something you have to spend something. They should know the fact "no loss no gain". If the scientists don't gather, don't present, don't discuss their findings then how we will able to find the fact? I would like to ask those replier who put some stupid arguments above, If climate change is proved then would you stop breathing?? because you exhale CO2 as well !!!! I know you cant stop breathing... Now flying to Bali is just like stopping breathe.
Thank you.

The majority of the world only knows what they are told. If the sky is really falling, then all of us Chicken Littles can do nothing about it.
The world is heating up, but humans are only responsible for .28% of greenhouse gases. The remainder is natural. Water vapor alone is responsible for 95% of greenhouse gases (check the EPA). The other 5% is largely from natural sources. What can we do about the 50 to 60 volcanoes that erupt each month? Or the gases they pump out for the million years or so their life? How do we prevent forest fires or rotting vegetation? Can we alter the solar cycles, our orbit, or axis tilt? We've had many warming and cooling cycles in the past and will have many more in the future whether humans exist or not. They found dinosaur bones in the Arctic and dinosaurs did not have heavy industry. Our little contribution will not make much difference. Farm animals contribute more CO2 and "intestinal gas" than all the emissions from all the cars on earth. I guess we could stop eating hamburgers and KFC. We could stop breathing and farting. Each human pumps out CO2 with each breath and farts 1/2 gallon of gas a day. That means we push out 3,000,000,000 gallons of methane and sulfides daily. So, stop eating vegetables - especially beans. Hear that Mexico?
Large majorities once believed the earth was the center of the universe. Most still believe in ghosts. Hitler was correct in stating that people will believe a big lie if it is repeated often enough. Hey, go have some fun while you can. Forget about your "carbon footprint". And be suspicious of popular causes. You can never underestimate the gullibility of humans.

My mother used to say that "if everyone else in the world jumped off a cliff and died, would you do it too"? Your question is based on what everyone else in the world says or does. Public opinion is a very flexible thing, and this opinion will last until another bigger and better disaster comes along to have an opinion about, particularly, if it can somehow be the Americans or Bush's fault. I personally don't care what they do or say. The jury is still out with regard to global warming, Al Gore, notwithstanding, and I am not too concerned that his " scientific proof", will stand up. Scientific proof is another flexible thing, and it also changes with great regularity. I am concerned with pollution in our cities, and in China. I am concerned with the filth in the Rio Grande, and other rivers in the world. I am concerned with the dumping of waste into the ocean, worldwide. I think that nature has great power when it comes to healing itself, and I don't believe that we can have much of a long term effect. But I do think that a lot of people will make a lot of money on this thing. And I do think that a lot of people will get a lot of entertainment out of it. And I do think that a lot of people will take on a lot of guilt about it, and maybe they will pollute their own environment a little less.

I don't agree, but only with the way you state this mind-manipulating question. We should let the energy companies use their money to develop these energy resources. We should be standing up against the alarmists who support a $4,500 a year tax to "Stop Global Warming". Aka, stop something that has yet to be proven.
Small minority? That is your opinion and your way of trying to manipulate people by expressing that. The fact is that most of the world doesn't know enough about the current situation. I took a poll the other day and it stated that "should we let the scientists debate this and stop wasting time and energy by blogging on sites like Yahoo?" 100% of the people polled said "yes, we should let the scientists debate it".
Like I have said time and time again, I wish I had your "environmental scientist" job. Just so I can sit on this message board all day. Why don't you power down your computer and save energy, afterall, energy causes CO2 emissions and that causes global warming. Your constant barrage of blogging probably uses 1,500 kwh per month. Sounds like you are a hypocrite to your cause.

Boy! looking at the answer by MikeB420....
It appears that he is correct about the person who posted the question. Level 6? four hundred and something points earned this week alone. I bet that computer never gets turned off. Real environmental responsibility there Lord Dana. People need to walk the walk if they hope to make a difference. By the way that conference in Bali where all those scientist flew to one of the more relote parts of the planet. Thats alot of carbon wasted in Jet fuel, just to go complain about all the carbon we are expelling. I guess it is do as I say not as I do huh?

University or community Polls do not reflect the view of the world population.
Governments attitudes have not always a lot to do with how the people feel .
OR are ALL Americans set on, A new World Order , starting a nuclear war and screw the rest of the world .????
(I am beginning to think most of them do).
since this is the projected attitude elsewhere,
It is only the majority of educated and concerned people who agree that overall Human behavior needs to be addressed for the sake of Humanity ,and our resources
And this means nurturing the Environment we got left,be economic with our Resources and try to have less negative and contaminating effects.
Unfortunately those who think this, are only a very small percentage of Humanity on this planet ,Far from being any majority .
The huge numbers are the poor in underdeveloped countries
and their only concern is their own immediate survival .to rape or pillage what they can (Environmentally speaking.)
They could not care less about Nature and will chop down anything to cook with or make space to plant ,Not knowing or caring whether or not this makes Environmental sense.
They are hardly aware that pollution ,waste of resources or deforestation are issues.
To be an Environmentalist is a luxury ,reserved mainly for the enlightened ones .
What is most alarming is that still so very many who are supposed to be educated or civilized ,especially in America (according to Answers)
have the same view as those in less fortunate conditions.
There is no excuse for that
Climate change is a force in motion on which we as humans can have little effect.some effect maybe ,but never enough to make a real difference. It is far too late for that.I suspect now that politics are utilizing the concept as well for their own devious purposes.
And there is not a chance in Hell ,that enough people will consider co-operating ,Just here in Answers alone is enough proof of that ,even in this very question.
What about the rest of the world
For that we would need Global peace
and
War appears to be the priority

No I do not agree, most people are not very smart and generally make bad decisions, I view the global public opinion as an inverse barometer. The US should find ways to reduce it's dependency on fossil fuels because of security concerns, the opinions of the rest of the world are of no consequence. Decisions that effect US policy should be based on what benefits the US and it's allies and this ridiculous rhetoric about altering climate should be banned from legislation, and subsequently labeled as purely theoretical research with no legitimate purpose that benefits the US.

Efforts is such an amorphous term. It is so ill-defined to be as worthless as a bumber sticker slogan.
What efforts are we talking about? At what economic cost? How effective would these so-called efforts be?
Polls like these are worthless. I'll defined questions left open to interpretation by the answerer. A "major effort" to one person may be a "modest effort" to another.

I guess I'm in the minority. I agree that we need to reduce pollution, conserve energy and find new cleaner sources of energy, but I don't think it will have a major impact on the climate. We need to make solar more efficient and affordable. We also need to develop the hydrogen technology and make it affordable. If reducing CO2 is the goal, minor reductions won't make a significant impact.

I believe we need to stop poluting our enviroment and our dependence on oil. I just don't believe it will effect what's happening with our climate one way or the other.
Edit: Since you claim I plan to only choose an answer that fits my belief. (Which if you didn't know it or figure it out is: I believe we are experiencing a climate change, but I believe it's a natural cycle or planet goes through. And that Humans are not making it go any faster than it happened in the past.) Have you ever given anyone best answer that didn't fit your belief system? And if so point me to the link.
