If you are unsure,,,try putting some of it up,,with bobby pins,,to see if you like how it looks. Once cut,,as you know,,it takes a long time to get it grown out again.
Do you know how to french braid it?? Updos are numerous,,and there are alot of ways to style long hair,,without cutting it all off. Yes, I have very long hair,,and had it cut off several times,,each time I was not happy a few days down the road. Plus it is winter in the northern hemisphere,,and long hair is WARM. Do what you feel is best for YOU!!!

Ah, yes, i wanted to cut my hair but my mom loved my long hair. She was very upset when i booked the appointment, but i knew it was something i really wanted to do. I got it cut medium length, and i love it! I feel like my head weighs nothing, but it's still long enough to style. My mom even says that i look way better with the new length.
You didn't really give me enough information to determine what haircut you should have, but maybe just cut it a bit longer than shoulder length with lots of layers...

It's your hair. If you're paying for the cut, then there is little she can say. However, when I was still living at home, I was more apt to do what my parents asked, even when I was a legal adult and very independent, simply because they were taking on a brunt of my financial bills (food, housing, tuition, etc.) and allowing me to live at home past the age of 21.
After reading your post, though, I hope English is not your first language.

Cut it. Long hair is overrated! Its hard to say how to cut it without knowing what you look like but a shoulder length bob seems to be flattering on everyone. Shorter hair shows off your face more too.
Plus shorter hair takes less time to do.
It's your decision so do what you want. You mom will love your hair no matter how it looks!

You have to make a decision yourself. A hairdresser can help you, not your mom. If you want to cut, but are afraid - give it a little chop, don't take off too much - it will make it healthier and will satisfy your curiosity. You can always cut off more.
hair is not teeth, it will grow back. :)))

If you're not going to do anything with it and it just hangs there, cut it off. Your mom isn't the one with the hair, you are.

Try cutting a few inches and see if you like it. No need to go drastic right away.
