im confused... whats the difference between "Diagnosis" and "Prognosis" please help =)

diagnosis refers to what IS.
prognosis refers to what MIGHT BE.

One is to predict (prognosis) a medical condition and the other (diagnosis) is to identify the condition.

diagnosis means: finding out about a present situation
prognosis means: predicting the future development of a situation
