YES ! After all the season is in the memory of Jesus. If someone wishes me happy holidays I don't get bent out of shape, or even happy Halloween. If I don't agree, I don't make a scene, as I figure that they mean the best.

As a Jehovah’s Witness I do not celebrate Christmas, but I do feel that being offended by others celebrating it is extreme. If someone in a store says Marry Christmas I just respond thank you and move on.

I can't imagine anybody getting offended by "Merry Christmas."

I personally prefer to use the alternate "Happy Holidays" because I don't know who's christian and who's not. I don't know who celebrates it and who doesn't.

It seems to me that "Happy Holidays" is more inclusive to other belief systems as opposed to "Merry Christmas", which is exclusive to the christian faith.

That's just my way of thinking, though.

Completely extreme and I don't celebrate Christmas. But I sure do wish everybody a merry one. Also seasons greetings, happy holidays and happy Chanakkuh.

[I know I've left somebody out and will get smacked.]

Absolutely! I celebrate Christmas, but I wouldn't be offended in the slightest if someone wished me a Happy Hannukah or Qwanza.

Yeah, I like it better when people say 'Merry Christmas' instead of 'happy holidays'. But some people get offended and there's nothing we can do about it. So it's fine.

I don't know. Christmas is not really just a religious holiday anymore. It's the shopping season. I'm atheist and have never found that or "happy holidays" offensive. I just don't interpret it in a religious way.

Yes, just as it is a bit extreme to be offended at "Happy Holidays". People are much too easily offended these days.

I agree!

I like "Merry Christmas" and do not find it offensive. However if I know another person celebrates a different holiday, I try to use their greeting.

Yes, it's a little extreme. That said, I think many Christians would be offended if a random stranger casually assumed that they were atheists. Would you be offended if I came up to you and (incorrectly assuming that you were an atheist) started making fun of how ignorant and gullible Christians are?
