come up with that could possibly represent resurrection? Any takers? Use your imaginations, I'm really interested in hearing something new.

I know that this is not a new symbol, but the dove would be my choice ...

The dove represents the Holy Spirit and if we look at the creation of Adam, he became a living soul AFTER he received the breath / Spirit of God ...

The first creation sets the pattern for the New Creation (i.e. resurrected life) to follow.

I think that is why the NT writers refer to the Holy Spirit as "the Promise" ... because His coming to Mankind was essential for the resurrection.

EDIT ....

I looked at iamapagan's symbol suggestion and this is what I see in it:

1. death represented by a sickle.
2. a wooden door.
3. the wings of a bird.

Actually, I have to say that those are all Bibical symbols... that would add up to resurrection.

1. death represented by a sickle - Resurrection is on the other side of death.
2. a wooden door - Jesus is the Door. He was a carpenter so He worked with wood.
3. the wings of a bird - speak to me of rising up high and of the Holy Spirit as I spoke of earlier in my post.

I am not too sure of the bird's face in that symbol but you could certainly make your own utilizing those three symbols together.

iamapagan, it is amazing how Biblical your symbol is. :-)

a headstone in a red ring with a slash thru it, like a no-smoking sign.

Frankenstein

a zombie

a person lieing down with their arms across thier chest like an egyptian mummy, then the same person standing up with their arms at their sides, with the feet of the pictures overlappping, so that you get an "L" shape.
