If your sciatica is a pinched nerve, yes there is a way to make it better.
Lay down on your back. Raise your right leg up, with the knee bent. Your leg should be bent at the hip and at the knee. Keeping you right shoulder on the ground, put your left hand on your right knee. Slowly pull your right knee to the left over your left leg. When you feel the pressure in your back (sciatica) stop there. Now take 5 slow breaths in and out and try to relax your back and hip. After you have taken the 5 breaths, return your right leg to the floor. Now repeat with the left leg. What this does is stretch the sciatica muscle. This takes the pressure off the sciatica nerve. You should feel some relief just after you finish. You will need to repeat this about twice per day until the pain goes away.
If this is an ongoing problem that comes up from time to time, perform this stretch once per week.
Good Luck

I've been battling sciatica for close to a decade, after a minor car accident, and I had tried everything the doc threw at mepills, injections, special mattresses This guide was extremely eye opening and within one week of the regimen you gave me I can barely feel any discomfort. You have no idea how much of a relief it is to be finally getting rid of a pain I've had to bear for so many years.

I had sciatica as well, and it took over 6 months for the chiropractor to get it back in line, but I've been nearly pain free for 3 years now, and it was worth it to have it done right. I think you need to stick to the chiropractor...are they doing any kind of traction? I think traction is a big part of curing sciatica. Good luck with your back!

sciatica is due to inflammation, the best therapy you can do at home is ice. Apply an icepack to your lower back for twenty minutes in any given hour as often as you can, this helps to decrease inflammation and the ice will also do some numbing to relieve pain.

About 3 times a day........
Lay flat on your back and pull your knee, (one side at a time), up to your chest. Hold for 10 seconds and slowly release.
Now do the other knee.
Repeat each side 5 times.
Should start feeling better in a few days.
What you are doing is stretching the sciatic nerve so it's not so tightly bound.

find a physical therapist and get a daily routine set up including diet as well as exercise. once you get with the program you'll find that in less than two weeks you feel way better and you only need nonsteroidal meds once in a while when you do more than you should. this is the voice of experience.
