Absolutely. I do it all of the time and haven't used vegetable oil in 15 years. Nothing but Canola or Olive oils

Want an even better alternative to using unhealthy oil ???
Use applesauce!
Not kidding, as a mama of 5 I do a lot of baking and I have not found one baked good that does not turn out perfect (if not better - more moist) when substituting applesauce for oil.
Whatever measurement the recipie calls for use the same exact amount of applesause to replace the oil.
I find that, although less economical, the single 6pk serving applesauce containers that you can buy are usually right around the amount you need for your typical cakes, brownie mixes, etc,. I always keep these on hand in my baking cupboard seperate from the stuff the kids gobble up that way I am sure to always have a healthy addition to whatever "sweet" I am already spoiling them with!!!
Happy Baking!!!

really oil is oil when it comes to baking the only real difference is that canola oil is a lot healthier than vegetable oil
if you really wanted to make it even healthier, you could use apple sauce instead of the oil. My sister in law makes her brownies that way and they always turn out nice.

Absolutely, any vegetable oil is interchangeable.
I actually use extra virgin olive oil in brownies since the strength of the chocolate masks any residual mild olive oil flavor. Much healthier!!

You sure can..........but if you want to watch the amount of fat in the recipe, you can omit the oil and use the same amount of applesauce with beautiful results.......Little hint from someone who just lost 40 pounds.......Enjoy your brownies!!!
