I heat up the cold water together with the eggs, after 15 minutes, somehow, two or three eggs always cracked. It's annoying cos it's hard to keep them in the fridge for a longer period in such condition. Can anyone tell me how I should do it so that the eggs won't crack??

Place eggs in cold water and bring to a boil, boil only 3 minutes. Take pot off heat and put the lid on for 11 minutes. Perfect eggs every time.

If you place the egg or eggs in cold water first, then allow the cold water with the egg in it to boil, they won' t crack. It's the diversity of the egg temperature versus the warm or hot water that makes them crack. Thus, if you bring the egg's temperature up while the water's temperature is going up, the shell will be less likely to crack. Once the water boils, it only takes 5 minutes to cook the egg.

Don't let them boil too hard. Just let them lightly simmer.

BTW, hard boiled eggs should not be stored for very long even if the shells did not crack. After boiling, the shell is always more permeable then when the egg was fresh. Don't count on it providing any extra protection for your cooked egg. The boiled egg should be kept no longer than you would keep leftover cooked meats.

Bring the eggs to room temperature and then add it to a sauce pan of cold water, enough to cover the number of eggs that you're making, then start the cook top on LOW and let the heat rise very slowly until very hot and starting to simmer......lower the heat and let sit for 30 minutes......drain and run cold water over the eggs (this halts the cooking process immediately), dry the eggs and store in a food storage container in the fridge for up to 3 weeks......Enjoy!!!

Place eggs in saucepan, fill with water to cover by a little bit (like a half inch), turn burner to high. You must stay and watch. When the eggs start to move just a bit, cover and turn to low. Leave on low burner for 20mins. Then, bathe in cold water. Not only do you get uncracked eggs, there’s no green ring around the yolk.

it seems that no matter what I do, I end up with atleast one cracked egg...

I usually boil mine with salt in the water for about 15 minutes so I'm really doing the same thing you are doing....I have boiled mine for less and it seemed to help

i always add a little salt before i boil them and don't let them boil too long, mine hardly ever crack and the salt will help take the shell off when you do get ready to peel them. hope this helps
