Make some Shrimp Fritters: Take the frozen shrimp (No tails or shells-remove them if they are present) and process them while frozen in the food processor into chopped shrimp. Combine with cornmeal, egg, garlic salt, milk, onion powder and cayenne pepper. Form into 1 inch balls and fry for about 30 seconds to 1 minute (5 at a time) in hot fat or oil . Season with kosher salt if neccessary after removing from oil. Watch the salt, they may not need any with the Brunswick stew. I make Brunswick a lot with Cottontail Rabbit meat. Richard B's recipe will be WAY too salty with the Brunswick stew!!!!

Stew is a usually a pretty much "one pot deal", having the meat and vegetables cooked together.......I'd just go for some crusty bread to sop up the delicious broth that the stew exudes during the cooking process......a very simple green salad (just a combo of baby lettuce leaves with a simple vinaigrette) should suffice......And this time of year, steaming bowls of stew/soup warm both the hear and soul.....Oh, I forgot completely about the glass of good tannic red wine to go with the stew......Like a Cab or Merlot.......Enjoy!!!

Simple question. If you don't like it why are you fixing it? I am guessing you are fixing it because everyone else thinks it is great. I am with you, don't like it. Seeing it has meat and veggies you don't need a side. Maybe some French bread for dipping.
With a 3 month old why are you going through the trouble of making it? Boil the chicken, burn your fingers getting the meat off the bone, then put into another pot with the tomatoes and other veggies and cook it again. Too much work for me. Overload it with Lima beans and some Okra and maybe they will not think it is not so great. Worked for me.
Now they like my chicken Cacciatore.

Will depend on the context really. Which is better as a snack - fruits to me. It's tastier and gives you that little of sweetness. Which can be better as a snack if you are trying hard to minimize back on sugar and lose weight vegetables

If you are from the south, you have to like Brunswick stew. It is a staple. It does take a while to make sorry. Short cuts will make a bad batch. It usually has 3 types of meat- pork, chicken, and beef. Everything is puréed fine with corn potatoes onion ect. All of it puréed. Ohhhh and tomatoes, yes. It's good with ribs, cornbread, slaw, baked beans. Sooooo gooood.
