do you think it would be ok if i made my christmas banana bread now and froze it until until i gave them as gifts? thanks soo much!

thank you all soo much.i do a lot of baking.i always start about 4 days prior,lol i give a platter of sweets to family and friends. i am soo happy that i can get this done and out of the way.....so i can bake the other million things :) happy holidays!

yes you should be okay to freeze your bread. I would the loaves really well with cling wrap (saran wrap...some form of cling wrap!) and then wrap them with aluminium foil. If they will fit, you could go an extra step and put them in one of those gallon sized freezer bags that has freezer lock that is supposed to keep the food from getting frost bite.

If you have the time, now is the time to do it.......most quick breads (such as banana bread, cranberry orange bread, etc.) can be frozen in the above mentioned methods for up to 3 months with no worry about freezer burn or picking up "off" flavors......Enjoy!!! Like I said, if you have the time, I'd do it now........you know how the time goes around the holidays......

Doing it just before christmas would be a much better option, banana bread becomes hard and less tasty when thawed

I do it every year, and it works just fine. Wrap them good so they don't get freezer burn.
