Atheists can be people who started off Atheists or they could have started off in other religions.
They can be people who either "lost their way into lust and materialism" or just "came to their senses"

There are certainly ex-Muslims. try Googling it. It's well known, partly because the still current traditional punishment is death (it was the medieval Christian position too). Luckily, ex-Muslims tend to be able to find a way to avoid punishment.
Many Jews raised Jewish also realise the error of theism. It's not that hard. Materialism = realism. I can take lust or leave it, though.
Incidentally, many Americans are apparently unaware that many of the 'founding fathers' (by which I mean people like Jefferson and not the pilgrims) were probably atheists.

Just to address this part: "cause it seems like all of them were christains and just lost their way into lust and materilaism"
I was a Christian, and lost my faith in the existence of the biblical god. I am actually less materialistic now than I used to be, and it had nothing to do with lust, or wanting to just do things my way. I simply could no longer convince myself of the existence of a god.

Actually it is the other way around....all Christians are those who were once atheists or agnostics........we are not born as Christians even if brought up in the church...we must come to Jesus just the same....There are many Jews who are born into the Jewish religion but become Christian the more they learn about Jesus...
Muslims are usually not given a choice in what they will believe...most are too afraid of their own family to consider becoming a Christian, even if they do question in their hearts,,the truth about Mohammad.

specific, i will answer: i became born into an truly atheist kinfolk, yet my college became very strongly christian. They indoctrinated fantastically plenty every physique there. So i became a christian. on the comparable time, nevertheless, i became continually involved in technological information subjects and usually had that form of techniques-set. Later, I went to a non-christian college and on the comparable time i became studying extra approximately issues like evolution, the great bang, and so on, and the information for them. the religion form of dwindled away as I discovered extra technological information. Now this is all long previous for stable, and that i'm satisfied approximately it. The cliche is that some thing undesirable occurs that motives you to renounce on your faith, yet i do no longer understand if it fairly is fairly the main basic situation. i think of a few human beings in basic terms have the marvelous preparation or way of thinking to comprehend it fairly is factually incorrect. this is not any longer plenty approximately "rejecting" the affection of God, yet approximately thinking "I actual don't have faith this entity exists".

There are a good amount of former Jews becoming atheists, yes. And, former Muslims becoming atheists usually don't have a long life span....
Christians losing their way into lust and materialism usually wind up being priests, so...not sure what you are getting at...are Catholic bashing?

Atheists come from all religons and sometimes they never even had a religon. Atheists, from the ones that i know, are just people that need to see it and prove it with science to believe it, with a religon you need faith, which comes into play when you cant prove or disprove something.

I knew a fellow who used to be Muslim, then became an atheist.
It had nothing to do with lust or materialism, just that he was more interested in the truth, than blind faith.

It could be anyway you slice it. The bottom line is, if it doesn't make any sense, it doesn't exist.
Remember one thing, at the beginning we were all Jewish.
I am thinking of converting to Judaism, because I am starting to believe that our savior has not come yet to save us, because we don't live in peace on earth. And way would anybody have their own son killed for a whole bunch of sinners. Nothing has been accomplished by having Jesus killed for our sins, because human kind are still sinners, murderers, thiefs, robbers, child abusers, fighting wars and so on.

Most people realize that there is only one true God. Throughout history, this one true God has appointed many good men to tell others about Him so that humans everywhere may turn away from false gods and worship Him alone. Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon all of them) all spoke about this one God and worshipped Him alone. In the Gospel according to Matthew, 26:39 (King James Version) we are told that Jesus 'fell on his face, and prayed' to God. In the Gospel According to John, 17:3, Jesus declares that the one he prayed to is the only true God. This very God speaks to us in these last days in His final Scripture which He will safeguard from corruption. God announces in His book good news to all those who believe in Him and do right. He says: Surely those who say, Our Lord is Allah, and afterwards are upright, the angels descend upon them saying, Fear not nor grieve, but hear good tidings of the Paradise which you are promised. We are your protecting friends in the life of the world and in the Hereafter. There you will have all that your souls desire, and there you will have all for which you pray. A gift of welcome from the Forgiving, the Merciful.
(Qur'an 41:30-32). Those who believe and do good works and believe in that which is revealed unto Muhammad - and it is the truth from your Lord - He rids them of their ill-deeds and improves their condition. That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood and beause those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. (Qur'an 47:2). Accept this invitation, therefore, and enjoy a life of peace and satisfaction on earth, then everlasting life in God's Paradise. The true scripture promises all this to those who choose no other god except the one true God who was worshipped by Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them). The truth has now come to you from your Lord! Won't you accept it?
