Primoa1970,
Are you saying they do not use the KJV like the other fundamentalists do? What Bible do they use?

A lot of fundamentalists are like the westboro baptists although maybe at a lesser degree.

Sorry for the typo in spelling...it should be Baptist not Batist,

Sure seems like it.

The call themselves Baptist, and I know that the Baptists are a Bible-only sect. So, my opinion is that they chose the term Baptists to identify themselves with the Baptists beliefs, which would include "bible-only" fundamentalism.

No, I have to protect the fundamentalists on this one. They are FAR beyond that. They are terrorists and haters, and nothing more.

Nothing about these people is Christian. At least the Fundies have good intentions, even though they may be overzealous. These people are the KKK without the hangings.

That's like saying Osama is a fundamentalist Muslim. There are good Muslims, there are the Fundamentalist Muslims, then there are just the pure evil, black heart, kill everyone Muslims who have absolutely nothing in common with Islam.

I mean, let's think about this. If Osama started calling himself a baptist, would you believe him? Or if Westboro called themselves Muslims? Of course not, so why believe them now?

i do no longer understand adequate bout the "Westboro Baptist Church" to remark. are you able to be particular? thrilling! No i do no longer likely see the place they're following the Bible, it is not historical Israel and that they do no longer look to be Jews so it does no longer carry on with that they might attempt to be conscious the regulation of historical Israel. they appear to be countless others who misuse the Bible to help their very own bias fairly than conforming their lives to the classes of the Bible. i'm specific skeptics and atheists love those men - provides them gasoline for their venomous assaults against Christianity (like a team with 50 contributors extremely represents the total faith)..

I don't know.

But they certainly do not follow the same bible that we do.....judging by some of the things they've done in the past.

I am a Baptist but......Westboro does NOT represent what we truly believe in or adhere to

Edit:
I go to a Baptist church here in the south.....and we use the ESV (English Standard Version)

I attended an Independent Fundamental Baptist church and I NEVER heard anything that even resembles what those people believe.

Its a case where a pastor chose to follow hate instead of love like the bible teaches. The bible does teach right from wrong, but it does not badger people like that church does.

They are a cult consisting mainly of Fred Phelps' extended family. If anything, they worship him, since his word supercedes everything else. Frankly, I've never seen anything like them and hope I never do again.

I doubt that they have ever read the bible.

They are a group of idiots who are bent on an issue, and have drawn a conclusion that has no correlation with the issue whatsoever. Their goal is to raise havoc, and they seem to have no concern at all about the salvation of souls.

Actually they're a bunch of bigots masquerading under the name of Christianity. Whenever you use any holy book, be it the Qu'aran or the Bible, as a weapon to harm others, you're a spiritual terrorist as far as I'm concerned.

They are the best and worst of Christianity.

They follow some of what is in the bible to the T.

Unfortunately, not everything in the bible is good.
