I was given a bottle of 40yr Gin and it was horrible!!!!!!!!! I was only worndering if some alcohol spoils. Thanks a bunch!

If it was opened 40 years ago, it wouldn't spoil but some sort of oxidation may have changed the flavor. It may very well have been bad gin to begin with. The flavor and mellowing process ends with distilled alcohol once it has left the barrel, so 25 year old single malt Scotch was in the barrel for 25 years before it was bottled

yes if the seal is cracked it can the sugar in it clumbs together and cause the taste to go bad

it is already bad when you buy it from the liquor store
