I'm interested in online dating...& I have no idea how to begin. I'd like to hear some great success stories! &, maybe recomendations for good sites....

I actually was online one night, in a chatroom, which I NEVER went in, but for some reason I decided to go into an Illinois(which is where I live) yahoo room. I had this guy start talking to me, not hitting on me or anything, just normal conversation. Well it turns out he lived about 30 mins from me, and his cousin, who he was very close with and visited alot, lived in the same town as me, about 2 mins away. Well, we had alot in common, and talked in Yahoo messenger after that, all the time. Finally we ended up meeting and hanging out when he was in town visiting his cousin. We became very good friends but never dated because he had a girlfriend...this was about 7 years ago. We stayed friends and hung out all the time, for the next couple years.. he and his gf fought alot, and eventually ended up not even speaking, just basically coinhabiting, well we stopped talking much for aawhile cuz he was trying to work on their relationship, and eventually they broke up, and we started talking and hanging out again, but still never officially dated (there were strong feelings on both sides throughout this time), because he was afraid to commit to anyone again. So, finally I quit talkin to him and satrted dating someone, but I couldn't get him out of my head...Well, after abotu a year of not seeing him I broke up with my bf and starting talking to him again, and he decided he was ready to make a commitment cuz we were meant to be together..and he couldn't live without me(which is how I felt abotu him also). This was 2 1/2 years ago, and now we are living together and have a 3 weeks old daughter and couldn't be happier. Things weren't always perfect, but he is my soulmate ..that I am sure of, and if it hadn't been for me chatting online that one day I would have never found him! He is the love of my life!

Smile, I felt like the biggest loser on earth when I did go to a mate seeking site. But regardless I did so. The site that I used was called FindSomeone.com. At the time it was a free site but I think they are a pay site now, am honestly uncertain. I chatted with many ladies on this site and found that there were many who were users, losers and/or liars. But I did chat it up with one female and we eventually did meet up face to face and just this May married after seeing each other for almost 4 years. We chatted for a couple of months before this lovely lady agreed to give me her real name and phone number. We then would speak on the phone as well as on line. Only good advice that I would give you is to be careful with how much personal information you exchange with these strangers. When your gut tells you that you may be chatting with a real person then you can begin to exchange info that is more personal. Best of luck and happy dating hopefully.

Well I did.. but not on a online dating thing.. actually it happened by accident but I'm so glad it did because now I have the greatest guy in my life and I'm in love for the first time and we've been together pretty much for 2 years and a half. We met on yahoo chatroom just talking not looking.

Yes!! We met on singleparentmeet.com, he's from New Mexico, me from Michigan. I flew down to meet him after chatting and phone calls. We knew the minute we saw each other (in person) that we were meant to be together. A month after the initial first meeting, we were married in Mich, and have been going strong ever since! Go for it! The world is such a HUGE place, and who says you gotta stay in your own little circle?

yes. I met my husband online, we live very happy, but also takes a while to find the right person, I think is the same think to know somebody in the standard way, you just need to be careful and I am sure you can find someone right for you good luck

No I haven't but I've had friends on here who have actually gotten engaged. One even to someone she hadn't met. I protested vehemently and got tossed. Oh I didn't protest out of jealousy, but out of concern. I think it went out of control. They were both extremely impulsive. But you meet the strangest people on here.
