Did you know that almost 3/4 of the U.S. States have laws banning certain diagnosis from owning firearms and thus working in the military or law enforcement field?

Did you know about the databases?

What do you think about it?

Yes I do know about it and I have mixed emotions. I am a sociopath which means I have no conscience and I wanted to get into the army to become a sniper but I cant since I'm not stable but wouldn't you want somebody that could take someone out for you and have no problems about it then some "normal" person who looses it after they commit murder?

about that last entry ok smart *** what if someone comes into your home and wants to rape you and you have no gun then what????? thats the dumbest thing I've ever heard

I've been hospitalized for psychosis and I think it's a good idea to have those laws. I mean, there is a certain level of instability in my personality that should be monitored.

However, if I really wanted a gun, I probably could get one illegally.

Of course, I couldn't work in the military or in law enforcement.. probably not the medical field either.. but I'm studying accounting so that's pretty safe. ^_^

Edit: Yes, I knew about the databases.

I think it's a good idea to keep guns out of the hands of people with mental illness! All 50 states should have these laws!!!

I did not go to your suggested site either. I am bi-polar and I don't think we should own a gun. Think about the shootings that have occurred at schools and the latest one at a mall have been done by people who have mental disorders and or street drugs. Should the mafia own guns, gang members, or drug dealers?

I didn't go to the site but I think anyone on meds or diagnosed with certain mental conditions should not own a gun, in fact I don't think anyone needs a gun.

I know that after you've been hospitalized for a mental condition you can not purchase a gun.
