I love the answers by Christians, for example, where they always have to slip in "God is real". Besides making me laugh, thanks for that, it also makes me confused because you appear to believe that by stating that it makes it true. That is like a person stating "Santa Claus is real", makes that true as well. Can you see how childish that actually is? Those are the statements that a child makes, stating and believing in the tooth fairy or the Easter bunny or Santa Claus or the Flying Spaghetti monster or God does not make them real at all.

Ecterbob: Once again you go back into that childish mode and that is your answer. Try sticking your fingers into your ears and close your eyes and jump up and down with your temper tantrum and then you can pretend I have gone away.

Pinky: FYI that is a theist tale that has been woven, just like the rest of your lies. In war there are a lot of atheists, they are atheists whether they are in a foxhole or knowing that they are going to die. You people are so egotistical to think that when atheists know they are going to die that secretly we become theists. Stop being childish.

Misty: Show me the evidence that makes God a FACT. Do you even know what a fact is? There are no facts that support the existence of God. The Bible was written by humans, that is a fact. In fact, all religious texts throughout time were written by humans. Those are facts because they can be proven. A fact is something that is the truth whether you want to believe it or not. A belief is not a fact, FYI. Hence religion is based only on belief and with no fact to support it.

Facts do not require belief...faith does.

you can believe something without having the facts, which makes it faith, not true.

Facts do not require belief, they are true whether you believe it or not.

Millions of people believed the earth was flat. Many were even executed by the church for suggesting otherwise... Even after Columbus sailed the globe, many still refused to believe it. Regardless of what version of so called "truth" that was believed, the fact remains that the earth is round and always has been.

You misunderstand the phrase "theist". In reality, your query does not relatively make a lot experience, Milo lol.. "Theist - Belief within the lifestyles of a god or gods, exceptionally notion in a private God as author and ruler of the sector." Says not anything approximately christianity. It's regarding all religions there. And moment, you'll be able to by no means "waste a while" believing in anything. It's the way you reside your lifestyles, it is a private choice, no person has the proper to inform you or else... SOME believers will worship their god, in view that that is what they pick to do. Some is not going to. Some can have a targeted faith, others is not going to. The ones that DO have a targeted faith will comply with their faith, but a few will comply with it extra strictly than others. For instance, my grandmother is Jewish and she or he follows a strict kosher nutrition (animals have got to be slaughtered correctly, detailed animals don't seem to be allowed to be eaten blah blah blah), but my mom (who additionally follows one of the vital jewish traditions) does no longer, in view that she chooses to not. They do not always placed "tendencies" to their god, as you place it. They comply with anything it says of their bible, in view that the ones are the indistinct instructional materials which they have got to comply with. Though as I mentioned earlier than, all theists comply with their faith to their possess private volume. It's their possess option nonetheless strictly or loosely they comply with it. Hope I made experience :)

So i guess you're positing that god isn't real?
My friend just said that You are real. I don't believe him! In a growing and ever changing interweb I have no proof that your profile wasn't created by, and your question posted by a statistically improbable server glitch.
Ya' know I love any technology which makes these epistemological conundrums feasible.
I personally fall in with the agnostics, there is no conceivable proof or disproof. But I'll throw in a dash of Pascal's wager and be on my best behavior anyway.

Doesn't really matter about what you think or I think, but the Word of God in the Holy Bible written thousands of years ago says, that God says we are without excuse not to believe in Him. God says the heavens declare His glory. I believe God is challenging us to admit only God could create what we see all around us and in us.

My saying God is real doesn't make it so, nor does your saying He's not make it so.
He's real no matter what you or I say.
Try on a foxhole or look down the barrel of a gun and give us your persnickity tale then. I doubt you'd be praying to Santa at such a time.

there is a reason why in every religion there are believers and not believers .well yes they are people that just say "god is real" and forget about the rest but there are people that say "god is real" and really believes in that .trust me no one (that knows nothing about god) just starts to believe in god by just hearing someone saying "god is real".there is always those kind of stuff that happen to you that makes you feel that "yes, there is someone that is watching everything i do and making my life go on, that is the reason why sad and happy stuff happen to me, either to test me or guide me to him or maybe to make me feel that he exists "

Pinky, it's really arrogant to say there are no atheists in foxholes. I hate it when theists make that claim. Atheists aren't just nearsighted. They don't just go through life atheists, and then reach the end of their lives and say "Oh ****, I better believe now." And, we're not cowards. We don't just reject our rationale in the face of fear. Fear of pain of death, that is, not fear of hell. No atheist fears going to hell.

I don't think anyone would be foolish enough to think that because they "said" something, that makes it so.

They are just stating a fact they've come to know. A fact that you have yet to learn. That's all.

Yeah. Just like sitting around whining about how nobody in your phonebook actually exists just because you drove by one randomly selected address and they no longer lived there.

I know by personal revelation that God is real, but I don't expect you or anyone else to take my word for it. So, no to your question. I do not think that by saying "God is real" it makes it so. I know God is real because of personal revelation given to me many days after fasting, living the commandments, and prayer.

"If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."--Jesus Christ (John 7:17.)
