My cat is about a year old now, and she is savage. Sometimes she can be so cuddly and affectionate, and other times shell attack your face, feet, hands, heck, any part of the body. and i mean BADLY. she clings on, doesnt let go. she has an attitude, and its scary sometimes.... her ears go backwards, walks sideways, and pounces on you. she is not fixed yet, do you think that has something to do with it?????? any other ideas!!!

Without knowing more about the circumstances surrounding her "attacks", it's difficult to say for sure why she does it, but at her age, it may be play aggression. The link below has lots of information about the different types of aggression, and will help you diagnose which one it is and how to resolve the problem.

Having her spayed won't necessarily stop the aggression, but if she's not full of raging hormones, she will certainly be a lot calmer at times. It will also benefit her health in the long term as it will reduce her risk of developing ovarian or mammary cancer later on in life.

Hope this helps.

First of all, she needs to be fixed. She's old enough to have kittens, plus cats in heat are just annoying.

She's trying to intimidate you. Don't let her! My kitten did this for a while, and I ignored it until I realized that she was asserting her dominance over me. When she starts displaying open aggression, pick her up and place her in a dark, quiet room by herself. A bathroom is a good place for this. Make sure that the room has access to a litter box and water (and food, if she's on an open-feed system). Leave her in the room by herself for about ten minutes or so, then let her out. She should be a good deal calmer. If she attacks you again, put her back into the room for another ten minutes. If you keep doing this, she'll learn that you're the dominant one and she'll stop displaying aggression. You might try playing with her more too, but make sure that your playtime does NOT involve your hands or any other parts of your body. Only play with toys.

well she's only a year old, so she is still in her playful mode because she's about seven years old (animal age). she'll be find and lazy once she reaches two years old, then its almost impossible to get her to play with you. let her roam around outside to get her playfulness and buy a toy (a ball with bells in them) or a small furry rat so she can play with and she'll leave you alone. but if you get her neurtured then she'll be less active. she's still gonna be playful, but not as much.
