Many often say religion is sexist because it was created & written by man. Other views are that men & women are equal but different. What is your belief? Is gender equality compatible with religion?

i'm not sure why you capitalized the be conscious genuine. and that i assume it relies upon on your definition of equality. women folk and men everybody is uniquely different (thank goodness). It does no longer mean we can't carry a similar the activity or do a similar initiatives, even though it does mean that ladies folk and men people play different and important roles in existence. which includes a girl carrying a toddler. A women people is extra nurturing and mushy-hearted than a guy, subsequently suits the situation of "mom" far extra powerful than a guy. And vice versa, while touching on fatherhood. Christianity recognizes those differences and celebrates those form of roles. because of the fact's what nature meant. Radical feminist attempt to squeeze the two sexes right into a generalized definition which for sure would not artwork for guy or lady. we are able to't be a similar in all issues.

Is gender equality really nessasary? Why does everything need to be "equal" in order to be right? I can honestly say, that I don't believe that men and women are equal, and I'm not even a Christian. What I can say, is that, there is no need to analyze every station a person holds, maybe inequality is a good thing.

I think it depends what you mean be "gender equality" I belong to a church that has only male pastors, and so some believe that my church is sexist. I don't think so. But I think some people are more concerned with what is "equal" or "fair" than anything else. It is important for every individual to seek out, research and understand their own identity, and gender identification is one part of that process. My husband is a man, I am a woman. He is a very peaceful individual, while I am always seeking. He has a great sense of direction, but I have a strong mind for ideas. I don't want to be equal to him, because then I would have nothing to bring to the relationship. It's our differences that teach us and make us stronger, not our sameness.

I think it'll be a struggle for some religions to accept the idea of gender equality, since they've conveniently had their religious texts describe women as occupying a subservient role to the man in life for so long.

I am a Christian woman enjoying gender equality. And in God's reality, we are above gender, anyway. Granted, some individual men have tried to convince me God thinks I am inferior. They have failed.

And no one else can speak for whether Ihave gender equality. To do so is to engage in the same judgmental behavior as religious extremists who think they know everything about someone else's beliefs.

It should be there. Read Luke Chapter 1 or the Book of Esther. If you can find a good Catholic or Orthodox translation read the Book of Judith. Women are not second class and misogyny was invented by men.

There is no such thing as gender equality, because men and women are inherently different. We can create laws and rules that require people to be treated fairly within various contexts, but nature/God made people of each gender different for particular reasons. "Religions" are human constructs and are therefore subject to all of the biases and prejudices that go along with the human condition. They can be as equal or as unequal as their founders want them to be.

Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

People like to pluck the verse that seems to put women down, ignoring the verses where women are raised up. Speaking as a woman, I'm darn glad for the difference.

It will never happen sadly. God's word is true man screws it up so no one will understand what it really says.
If you are a true christian it should be as GOD's word states;
Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.
Ephesians 5:28
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
Colossians 3:19
Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
Titus 2:4
Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children,

My faith does have gender equality . . .

Galatians 3:26 for in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. 27As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. 29And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to the promise.

Some can misunderstand other scripture, but this is pretty simple, isn't it?

Godspeed.
