what i mean to say is when Hitler killed so many jews was it the fault of Christianity? if i would say yes then it would be only falsehood nothing else. similarly we have black sheep in every community. whenever some one talks about alqaida or jesh-e-Muhammad they are called as Muslim terrorists but when they talk about organizations like Irish republic army they are only named as IRA not Christian catholic terrorists. so why only Islam to be blamed when Quran says that if you kill even one innocent human being it is as if you have killed the whole of humanity. why is western and American media trying to create hatred against Islam? please be respectful with your answers and i want serious answers.

yes, i agree with you so much! always we hear in tv words of criticism toward our religion, but if anybody else commits an act of terrorism, nobody bothers to check his religious background. in many cases thou it's the wringly understood religion that is standing behind them.
let's be fair toward people.

I think you miss the point, here, my friend.

The IRA was fighting for Ireland's Sovereignty which is a Political Goal whereas Al Queda has been terrorizing on Religious Grounds, hence the Islamic tag.

Pity is that while the Mecca verses of the Koran preach a lot of moderation, such as what you've quoted, the Medina verses preach a lot of hatred and violence, which is what the terrorists, mullahs and imams use.

Unfortunately, while Mohammad began with the conciliatory approach while introducing Islam, he turned right about turn when he had to flee on the Hijra.

You'll notice that the Medina verses totally negate the Mecca verses and preach that it's the duty of every Muslim to fight against the others till Islam is the only One Religion in the World, where all the idolaters must either convert or die while the People of the Book [Jews and Christians] may live as "dhimmis" or second class citizens.

Now, you seriously can't expect all of us to take this lying down, can you?

Especially since the History of Islam is one of Oppression, extreme violence, genocides and even today, the Imams and mullahs are preaching this very thing.

Pity, but, you Muslims need to work on these things very fast because you're forcing all of us others to actively consider preemptive action.

Peace.

Because the driving force behind the IRA is not their Roman Catholicism, but that Englishmen are on Irish soil. They view the island as theirs and since the English tended be Anglican as opposed to Roman Catholic, you get the Irish Protestant/Catholic "war".

Islamic Fundamentalists on the other hand do what they do for primarily religious beliefs. They believe they are doing Allah's will and will be rewarded thusly.

The IRA had a nationalist agenda, hence they are a nationalist organization...Same goes for the Nazis.

When they were blowing up bandstands or sending people to the gas chamber, neither was shouting "God is Great!!!"

Al Quaida does not represent any State. In fact it threatens all states, Muslim or otherwise, that do not honor their narrow interpretation of Islam.

Extremist ideology is the greatest threat to all religions. Don't blame the western media, blame those who have perverted an otherwise benign religion.

It seems to me the media and educational institutions have made a good effort to recognize that the terrorist are extremist and don't represent the majority of people from the region. Religion is one way a power hungry person can manipulate a society whether it is Hitler or the Irish Catholics.
In discussion of the Irish conflict the catholic and protestant denominations are discussed and compared to the conflict between two denominations of the same religion as in central Iraq.

Moe, you ask a serious question, and so far, no one has given you a complete, serious and credible answer. Please, let me try. The reason for the distinction is because of the ends of each group. While the IRA was made up of many who were raised Catholic, the ends of the IRA were expressly secular in nature. They wanted an end to British Rule in Northern Ireland, eventual union with the Republic in the south, and a socialist government. Since their agenda was not religious, there was no justification for calling them "Catholic bombers." On the other hand, groups like Al Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah are all organizations with an avowed "Islamist" agenda. By their own admissions these are groups who believe in a theocratic organization of society along the lines of Quranic law; and therefore they are sometimes designated as "Islamic extremists." I hope this answers your question.

I understand your feelings, I really do (btw, I always keep my answers respectful). However, one cannot say that Hitler committed atrocities in the name of Christianty since he himself gave a statement that Jesus is not Son of God, since he was a Jew. He might have been born into a Christian family, but let's face it - he wasn't a Christian.

On the other side, plane black boxes proved that terrorists who committed atrocities were yelling ''Allahu Akbar'' before they killed themselves and many, many others. That's the difference. We have a proof that people commit horrible crimes in the name of Allah.

I have yet to hear of an IRA member who planted a bomb yelling ''In the name of Jesus!'' They might be Catholics, but they don't kill because of their Catholicism.

That's what I think about the whole thing. However, I would like to point out that I have many Muslim friends whom I love dearly and I would never let religion come between us.

Wish you all the best!

Maybe because the IRA wasn't trying to advance any Catholic agenda or trying to kill everyone who wasn't Catholic. They were only against the Protestants in N. Ireland who kicked them out of their lands and discriminated against them. It was only Catholics vs. Protestants who lived in N. Ireland. They didn't/don't want to eliminate all Protestants, where Al Qaida would love to see all non-muslims dead.

But the IRA is a terrorist group - just not one with global aims. They are also a political group.
