My best friend chews the food for her 1yr old baby, baby has a lot of teeth and all, very healthy baby too, and I don't know why my friend chews food for her, she could use the blender or simply cut the food, but instead she chews it in her mouth and simply does what birds do, spits it in the baby's mouth, hmm I don't feed my kids like that never did, too much germs and it looks disguisting. Should I tell her, or just let her do her thing?

wow that is so strange. ive never heard of humans doing that. I would definately bring it up to her. but beware, she could get very angry and defensive. you know how mothers can be when it comes to their babys.

Sounds kinda gross. I would definitely tell her. It's for the baby's own good. Adults are exposed to a lot more germs than babies are and babies are more susceptible to getting sick off of the germs adults possess. It is not healthy for her to do that. Let her know immediately that this is not the best thing for the child.

I think if I were there my "regurgitation" from witnessing such a thing would have tipped her off. Though maybe she would think that I was just offering to help feed the baby. I one year old should be able to eat soft, solid foods and it is best that she start to learn how now.

I would gently suggest that the baby is now capable of chewing. Or maybe ask where she learned to do that so you can start the conversation. That is really odd. I would bring it up.

Mothers have been pre-chewing food for their babies for thousands of years. Just don't watch if it bothers you.

The way she parents is the way she does... its not like you can stop her, shes goin to do things her way. But it nevers hurts to ask about it. Just bring the topic up one day?!

Maybe that's her culture or that's how she choses to feed her child. It's her child. Why don't you just ask her why she does it? Refer to her a childcare book. Can't hurt.

I'm not one to poke into others parenting but in this case, yeah I'd say something. That's ridiculous.

your best friend is seriously weird.

Tell her, or that baby's teeth aren't going to be good for anything.
