The explanation of a "college credit", short for a "college credit hour" is this. ....
If a class is 3 college credit hours, it means you are physically in class 3 hours per week for that particular class in a normal 16 week semester. Most courses are 3 credit hours. Some courses are as many as 5 credits, but they are usually classes like Chemistry that also have labs with them.

So a person enrolled in 15 hours (short for 15 college credit hours) is physically in class 15 hours per week.

Higher number of credits means you will pay more. If you only need 3 hours of math, there is no reason to take 6. You need to speak with an advisor- they will be able to explain your program with you so that you are not taking hours you don't need to. The more credits, the more in class time you have each week (generally, the major exception here being labs). More credits is not always a good thing. If you follow the plan set up by your school for your major, you will have plenty of credits in the classes you need. Trust me don't take more than you have to- My first degree ended up with about 10 credits I didn't need, which is almost a full semester!

What math is 'needed' for your major? Some of those higher level maths are specific for majors, like engineering and accounting thus the higher credits. Or in the begining math you may have to write a paper for the credit.

Don't fall into a trap of picking classes based on solely credits, because when it comes time to graduate you may have enough credits-but not enough classes in your area of expertise.

Go to the admission office or online and your major will have a 'track' that you should complete for graduation.

The unit of credit in college is the semester hour, which is the credit earned by meeting a course one hour per week for a semester. Most college courses meet three times each week and give three semester hours of credit. So if the course is 6 credits, it meets 6 hours in a week...

It sounds like it depends on the level. Higher level courses sometimes have more credits because of the time commitment or because of labs. 0990 sounds like a graduate course so it may have to do with a thesis or doctoral.

First of all her suicidal threats are a manipulation. Second of the flat is in her name what are you worried about. Since the ring is gone don't worry anymore it is your ring and was given as a token of your promises to marry since the marriage is off it defaults back to you it is still your property. I agree with our boss take some time, cut off all ties with her and move on. Since you have gifts to give out I would asked someone else to give the gifts out or ask your boss if you can come in for an hour or so and distribute the gifts. You are lucky you still have a job. Get rid of her and move on don't let the drama suck you back in if you get back with her it will be the same BS you just broke up over. Good luck.
