Since just about every Christian has regular sexual encounters with their boyfriend or girlfriend, and often outside of a relationship, Isn't part of forgiveness that you stop doing the action. Somehow screaming sorry and keeping on doing it doesn't seem very sincere to me?

I'm in college, not much has to be assumed.

People need to use wisdom. Flirting with the edge of temptation will always pull you overboard.

The Proverbs say:

Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

Proverbs 25:28 Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls.

Not that you stop doing the action, but you sincerely INTED to stop doing it. You can fall over and over again and still be forgiven.

BTW - pre-marital sex is not adultery, so don't try to connect the two. Pre-marital sex is not a mortal sin, since the 10 commandments are basically the only mortal sins (more or les - I can't think of a mortal sin that's not in there).

I fully admit I had sex before marriage but I was not a Christian then. I still do not agree with sex before marriage but not for biblical reasons. I just there are too many things that can go wrong outside of a committed relationship with sex i.e. pregnancy, STDs. My religion has no bearings on my feelings about it.

You're right - it's not SINcere at all [pun fully intended] to say you're sorry when you intend to continue. [that's between the individual and God though]
My husband and I waited until we were married - and we have been married now for 21 years. There are many more lasting things to build a relationship on than sex.

As a Christian I like your question and I like your comments, and you are right. Most Christians failed before marriage, but Jesus will forgive us, the problem is when we repent and then keep on commiting adultry after marriage, when we do this eventually our world will come crashing down. I can name plenty of people who's world has crashed, when we repent and then keep on did we really repent, of course not, God does not wash that sin away until we truly repent and change our way. Thanks goodness Jesus is a merciful God who will help us to stop and truly repent and turn to him. Praise the Lord for that.

Because it's carnal, and it feels good, and none of us are perfect, and to err is human, and because we allow our lust to get the best of us,etc, etc. We're no different than you the last time I looked, but we do try a little harder.
