Yes, The Bible has influenced my life. Of the 365 days a year I'd estimate that I read the Bible about 350 of them. Maybe those that answered the poll meant that they revere what's in the Bible. A person can learn what's in the Bible, know what it means and stands for, by going to Church, listening to TV and Christian radio, reading Christian articles and other books, being witnessed to by another person/s.. The word and will of God can be conveyed in many ways other than reading the Bible. Still, reading the Bible is the best way to learn of God.

The Scriptures, or rather the covenant message of the Messiah and his redeeming work revealed in them, has changed my life dramatically. Actually they have been a tool that helped PUT ME TO DEATH so that I could be BORN ANEW.
I read it everyday. I study it intently usually two to three times a week, and almost always at east once a week. My wife, and children do the same. We have discussions about something in it practically every meal together, some short, some long. It reveals a way of life and a battle plan in the war it speaks of. We have been brought out of the cretin religion that promotes itself as the faith using the bible as its platform.
I have about 40 translations and several microfilms of ancient scrolls the translations are taken from, numerous lexicons, both modern and rather old ones. Literally thousands of dollars invested. BUT, I would like to stress, my TIME and MONEY invested has not been the means by which my understanding has grown. It has been revelation from Yahweh. For one can read and study til they are blue in the face, and it turns out that unless Yahweh has it in His plan for you to understand, the reading will be of no value. I know many people who laude themselves with education, and books, my own library rivals many a religion section of public library's, and all I can say is that reading is sometimes the tool that opens one's eyes, it still took the revelation from Yahweh for understanding and faith to come forth. Plenty of illiterate people are true believers now, and there have been even more in the past. When rome forbade the scriptures to the common people for over 1000 years, this did not keep the remnant from coming forth. When Peter came to understand who the Messiah Yahshua was, it was not something he read nor that had been told him, but it was by REVELATION, and it is ON THIS ROCK THE EKKLESIA IS BUILT, not the bible itself. Sola scriptora, while seeming righteous, is an attack on the soverighnty of Yahweh. Your abilities to read and understanding what you read has NOTHING to do with the Salvation of Yahweh. While the Scriptures are able to make you wise unto salvation, IT IS THROUGH FAITH that is accomplished, and Faith is a gift from Yahweh.

Years ago I decided to read the Bible once through over a period of about four years.
The Old Testament to me was very revealing since, to me, it was like reading today's headlines.
I began to resee the New Testament from the point-of-view of the Old Testament and realized that Jesus Christ was 100% Jewish and that Paul, to a great extent, invented Christianity.
The Bible is as good as, if not better than, Mother Goose and other fairy tales including those of Walt Disney (my view).
I began to appreciate why many Bibles have golden edges due to what many call the Word of God - the inspired words of God.
Libraries can house millions of books, however, the Bible seems to, time and again, float its way to the top (my view today).

I actually try to read the Bible daily. I do read at least three or four times a week. The Bible has been very influential in my life and should be in the lives of everyone, for me it's like an instruction manual if you will for how we should live as Christians. Also without the Bible I wouldn't have known that Jesus died for me. The Bible is Awesome!

jointly as i'm an atheist I comprehend my bible good, and have it interior arm's era of this pc, in conjunction with my different key reference works. I usually learn some element in it 2 or 3 circumstances a week jointly as i'm energetic magnificent right here, besides the undeniable fact that it isn't any longer a "examining" e book now, even although i've got learn it only for the period of greater advantageous than as quickly as. From the bible, examining it is evidently now no longer a call for of salvation (the 1st era of Christians did no longer have it!), besides the undeniable fact that any Christian would desire to declare that examining and looking out out it (now no longer extremely an identical element) would desire to be a nicely element.

It hasn't impacted me personally, but some of my family members are deeply religious. I've read the bible for religious classes before and I always find something in there that makes me mad. It portrays women in an unfair and negative light. For instance if a man divorces his wife then she carries that shame for the rest of her life, even if she did nothing wrong! I don't honestly believe the bible is inspired by God.

I must fall into the 13%, because I read it daily. I usually try to go cover to cover at least twice a year, and the study on top of that. So it has been a big influence in my life.
