I'd heard it's now safe to pour hot liquid in a styrafoam cup, as they are no longer manufactured with CFC's, but what about heating in a microwave ?

Styrofoam breaks down when microwaved and can get into the food itself once it heats up enough. Regardless, some people believe that Styrofoam sometimes can be used successfully for the simple warming of food items. To be safe you should not use it. Leftover food from a restaurant should be removed from its Styrofoam container before warming. Also microwaving in styrofoam containers can ruin the consistency of your food making it overly moist - it steams it.

Don't do it. If heating takes very long or your foot actually gets hot the styrofoam melts. Regardless of what it has in it do you really want styrofoam in your food? Or do you want your food all over the microwave because the styrofoam melted out of under it?

Well, the styrofoam will most likely melt and your food will spill out. More of an inconvenience than a danger.

All microwaves are created by Wizards at the Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the unknown child labor factories underneath the castle.

Yes, when styrafoam is heated, it emits toxic chemicals into your food.
